Nothing against Japan, but they already have a surplus of ice shows - Plushy was in what, 3 or 4 this summer already? And he was just in China. North America hardly gets any good ice shows any more, certainly not with foreign skaters.

He didn't announce his participation this summer until the last minute, so I didn't apply for the "lottery" to get the ticket, which resulted in a double priced ticket in auction. But of course not every show is full house, Japan Open will likely have plenty of empty seats this year. In this sense I think he is unlikely to bring the tour to Japan, because you need a Japanese star to sell tickets and get sponsorship, but then it will be the star who's gonna be in the center of spotlight, so...Here are some screencaps of Plushy on wires.

:I thought Kovtun still looked pretty skinny at Nationals + Worlds. But I've only got video, so your info's probably more reliable. Plushy does look really thin this year--thinner than 2010 for sure (was he this thin when he was competing in his prime from 2001-2006? He never looked too thin, maybe because of his posture and height).

Can I just mention how incredible this is--that a figure skater is part of something like this? I'm not familiar with the other stars and whether they're really top-notch... but I doubt any skater here in Canada gets included in something called "Avenue of Stars."
