See the 2014 Euros Ladies SP thread, pages 8-9 (I don't know whether the references continued further into the thread) -- starting with post #107.
The adjective associated with the nurse was more like "sultry" ;).
In post #112, Ziggy -- with a big grin -- referred to it as a "perky flight attendant" program. In post #114, he gave a link. (I have not clicked on the link.)
The skater was Isabelle Olsson.

BTW, in case anyone is interested, as I was Googling around to find the answer to your question, I came across this IN article re the 2008 OD at Skate America and the character portrayed by Delobel:

Awww...the link is broken but I think I may have enough to go on. That was the first event that I watched and realized you could post live and partake in conversations as the event unfolded with GS friends. I had like 10 posts at that time and had been a silent lurker for years.

Oh Ziggy...."perky flight attendant". I love going back and reading the old threads. The live event ones are so much fun....until the event ends :biggrin:

Sexy can make good programs. You need to have good interpretation skills to be sexy while skating. Furthermore, iI hat it when people do latin dances or tangowhile looking absolutely mot sexy. Tango is a sexy dance

I agree. And many of my most favorite men's programs are the sexy ones: Javi's Black Betty, Dai's Blues for Klook. I can't understand someone having a problem with programs like that unless they are posting from 1955. Certainly it wouldn't be good for young teenagers to be skating the same kind of programs, but I haven't seen much of that anyway.

Compared to what you can see at most pop singers' concerts these days, skating is still extremely conservative...so what is the problem?
 
Frankly, Dai could probably just stand center ice and wink and smirk and I'd give him 9+ for every component...
 
I never saw her do a program that could be considered sexy however, Jennifer Robinson is Gorgeous!!!! Her eyes are Stunning.

I think it's just hilarious every time I see it. Not what Kovtun would have wanted (sorry!), but I can't help it...:laugh2:

It's not a bad sexy program because it's inappropriate or anything though, but simply because it's not sexy, when it was supposed to be ;)

True...........When he started skating, all I could was.. "OMG, it's Michael Buble' on skates!!!" He's cute though.:)
 
Give me a Katarina Witt, Kristi Yamaguchi, or an Adelina-style performance any day.

IMO, the U.S. Nationals ladies event would highly benefit from more programs with pizzaz. (I just tend to find myself nodding off during all the early rotations of slow MK-style music)

As for flirtatious guys programs, Kurt Browning could definitely pull it off.

My 2 cents - I think if someone is trying too hard to be flirtatious (ie, blowing kisses or stripping), it looks very cheesy, IMO. I also think flirtatious programs are more appropriate for EX rather than competitive programs.

Then there are skaters that just exude sex appeal and capitalize on it. A great current example is Elena Ilinykh - she has the charisma and sex appeal where you can't take your eyes off her when she skates (Ruslan who? LOL). She also inhabits characters extremely well. She is carrying on the Katarina Witt tradition.

Regarding V/M's Carmen, yes, some people thought certain lifts were x-rated but I didn't mind it, just b/c the program was so mind blowing and cutting edge. It's one of my favorites b/c it's a piece of art, IMO.

I think sex appeal is a reason a lot of us watch figure skating. Most of them are beautiful, young and athletic - nothing wrong with that!

I just love that program!!! What do I know though? I actually like Kovtun's hip thrusting teenage hip shaking EX too :hopelessness:
 
I thought Kovtun was trying to be funny. I thought it was pretty obviously ripped off...er, inspired by Plushy's Sex Bomb. No? Did he say somewhere it was supposed to be serious? :confused:

Okay I'll bite. Flirtatious programs can be appealing if they're tastefully done. But when the choreography is too forward it can be a turn off. When certain choreographers have skaters grabbing butts and other erogenous zones, no dice. But other skaters namely Dai could convey the same message more subtly with just a wink, case in point his mambo SP. But I don't think its something that can be taught you either have that flair or you don't.

I don't mind flirtatiously choreographed routines are fine as long as they are age-appropriate and the costuming isn't trashy... I loathe an overabundance of illusion fabric.

One of my favorite pairs programs is Volosozhar/Trankov's Godfather SP, it was sultry/sexy without being tacky.
