Medvedeva leaving Eteri

Well, Medvedeva certainly now has an opportunity to prove that she's not just a product of Eteri's and show how she can progress without her. I guess the next season will be much more interesting when it comes to seeing changes in her style and approach. I assume it'll be very drastic because no other coach has their skaters skate like Eteri.

Average person, who were in sports at lower level, who got angry too many times in a heat of the game, into fights even, with big mouth towards opponents and sometimes teammates (unfortunately), but always face to face and never using dirty tricks to eliminate opponents from participating. :noshake:

Lol no. Alina had beaten her already at that point, so no comment of Evgenia could have eliminated her as competition. If she really said something like that, which I honestly don’t believe, i assume it was something like “dang, I lost, why the heck couldn’t Alina have stayed in junior for one more year” - which said literally 2 seconds after losing makes perfect sense. She still was graceful with Alina and praised her hard work, the two of them seemed more than fine with each other in japan. So yeah.

She has never been good at giving interviews, but no journalist tricked her into going on national television.
Are you sure? She was asked some questions by goddamn phone - there weren't any cameras or mics. She can even don't know that it will be on tv.

If he takes on Zhenya, he would land right in the middle of of these dramas. After Vancouver, he was in exactly same spot as Eteri. Unanswered called from Yuna's team, kept hanging for the next season preparation and war of words between them. He grilled Yuna and her mom pretty bad back then. One time I find Orser being very unprofessional. Hurting and all, he should have known better. So yeah if he did have a talk with Zhenya during a previous few weeks, he turns up to be a big hypocrite in a way.
Not necessarily. I mean, Brian learned from that, and he hasn’t done it again. He was also involved in some weird accusations of a romantic relationship with Yuna, iirc, which is a pretty bad conduct for a coach (and obviously untrue, cuz he’s gay, for god’s sake). It was unprofessional of him, and clearly he and Yuna has some major communications breakdown, but at least he had legitimate reason to grill them. He’s said complimentary things about Yuna since and expressed regret for how he handled it.

All this unlike Eteri, who criticized Yulia, and then Aidian (who was forced into retirement for skating with the severe back injury known in Eteri-land as “whiny laziness”), and now Evgenia in a complete 360 of what she used to say about her just a little while ago, and contradicting herself over how much communication she’s apparently had with Evgenia in the meanwhile. Orser may genuinely be worried about the drama but wanting to avoid it is hardly hypocritical and he can’t be blamed for not knowing Eteri was unaware of Evgenia’s leaving when apparently everyone else at Sambo 70 was.

Sorry to butt in, but your argument is so flawed. It's not as if Zhenya had any way of ACTUALLY forcing Zagitova to stay in juniors, lmao. It was just wishful thinking, and it wasn't as if Zhenya said it to Alina herself or anything, it was a private conversation between Eteri and herself. And this is all if this ACTUALLY happened.

What’s wrong with Orser taking Zhenia in? People ask him to coach them and he take them as long as they fulfill his requirements. That’s all. He doesn’t have any say in the split between Eteri and Med.
You change your job and your new boss is responsible for your fiasco with the previous company? Logic???

Ok but what kind of proof besides Eteri’s words do you have to say this :x

Are you sure? She was asked some questions by goddamn phone - there weren't any cameras or mics. She can even don't know that it will be on tv.

She gave them a screenshot of her phone messages - anyway what do you expect speaking to journalists? It was going to end up in the media no matter what! TV, radio, it doesn't matter what it was on, she still went to the press without even waiting for Evgenia to come back so she could talk to her.

Eteri spent 11 years of her life coaching Evgenia and now this girl whom she made a figure skater superstar left her. She can be heartbroken. It's not a medal it's smth more...
So I dont agree with you

If she is, and its still a huge if, compare to the tears of Evgenia's defeat, those are extremely different moments. Time is essential.

A grow up person, in Eteri's position, need to behave differently on public. Privately can also have trow and broke chairs around her home, but go in television days later its clearly not comparable with something foolish just do the exactly moment you are in rage.

Some people here must be saints or never participated in pressure cooker environment, the way they put on a holier-than-thou attitude and expect these athletes in a so and so way.

If I gave up my entire childhood and slaved away on a diet for a friggin' Olympic gold medal and saw my teammate snatch it away from me in the last second, making one remark would be the last thing I'd do. I would go snatch both Eteri and Zagitova's weaves off.

Then what about the other girls who worked as hard but didn't even podium? Should they have reacted even more impulsively?

BTW, Alina didn't snatch the OGM away from anybody. That medal wasn't Evgenia's -or anyone's- to begin with.

I've definitely said hurtful things before and I understand that Evgenia is human too. I'm not hating on her, I have a problem with people making excuses for her. If she indeed said that, she should apologize.

So my little sister called me in tears today, she was upset because she had a hard time with a few short English exercises and thus she wanted to leave home, because apparently my mother making her do homework she was supposed to do on Friday is awful and everyone is being too hard on her.

Little did I know this would turn out to NOT be the most immature thing I would hear today. This is beyond ridiculous.

I don’t even know what to say.lol

But the thing is Eteri has known for weeks. Her team and her daughter have been deleting pictures with Zhenya, and the director of Sambo also knew this. Her narrative that she had no idea just isn’t true.

I don't believe her either. But my post is about why Orser will end up in hot water if the switch comes into fruition. Yuna's side of story claimed that Bryan was lying too.

That's why I think he should have run the other way in my earlier post.

Hell yeah it will be interesting.
I really want to see that.
Eteri will surely laugh if she doesn't stay at the same level....

Orser doesn’t have to do anything with this. Why would he run away? You talk as if youf new boss is responsible for your arguments with your previous boss who fired you.

Honestly, she shouldn't have to apologize. The only reason she should now is because Eteri leaked it all to the public, even though it was clearly a private conversation....

There is also a possibility that they deleted Zhenya's pictures because Zhenya did not reply Eteri's messages, which caused Eteri to suspect that Zhenya is leaving her.
Possibility.

No one has any proof to prove that Med actually said that, even Eteri herself. Lol

honestly is it even that offensive of her to say what she said regarding Alina? It's not like she downgraded her talents or called her an unworthy winner, lol even privately she did not stoop as low as Eteri

And those other girls have probably said things in similar vein in a moment of total frustration. To their coaches or their friends or their family. In private. As we all do.

As questionable as Eteri's claim that Zhenya said it is in the first place, even she only goes as far as claiming it was something Zhenya blurted out to her while crying after she lost. Not to Alina or anyone else. As we've all seen, she went and congratulated her and stressed how hard Alina worked in multiple interviews later on. So what should she apologize for?

Honestly? I feel bad for Alina. Regardless of what the truth is (Medvedeva did not make the comment, Medvedeva made the comment but was joking, Medvedeva said it in a moment of anger, Medvedeva is indeed mean-spirited), a 15 year-old girl should not have to hear that on national television. It’s like a parent putting their children in the middle during a divorce. Eteri is hurting everybody involved in this situation.
