NBC News admits there is a sport called figure skating

Today on the "Today" show, NBC news had a 3.5 minute blurb about the Nationals.....You can probably watch the segment on line. Their "reporter" said Chock and Bates skated in a disipline called couples or some nonsense like that, but one wonders why they didnt do a blurb...or maybe I missed it...before the event for advertising.

Haha, that sounds like they're even worse than the Dutch news, they at least sometimes even do a feature on some figure skater. Granted they're more interested in long and short track skating, but still.

Contrast this to Japan, where they just did a whole prime time special on Yuzuru... yeah, I know, cheap shot. But did they mention the other skaters (Malinin's agent will NOT be pleased if Maddie is the one getting the attention, he complains enough already)?

And does it mean they might even deign to give 5 minutes for Worlds?

A friend who knows I like skating told me that today on the TODAY show they had Amber, Alysa, Ilia, and 2 couples. I would assume the couples.were Chock.& Bates and Efimova & Mitrafanov. I haven't had a chance yet to see if it's on their web site.
