Yesterday, I went to The Legends and was very happy to see his brand new gala:love:
This was my first time to watch him skate on live and I was first struck by the simplicity of his skating:shocked:
His edge was very deep, he went so smooth with a stroke, but it did't seems at all that he was doing very difficult things!

Patick was introduced by Javier and Nathan and I love the comments from Javier.

well, in China, chen and chan actually means the same surname "陈"，so we chinese fs fans take Javier as Patrick's good friend, but Nathan as his little cutie brother.
 
Has anyone tried Patrick's ice wine? I am so intrigued by this wine because it's the convergence of two of my favorite things, wine and Patrick:luv17:.
 
It's been a while, folks, and I'm working on a much longer post for this thread, gathering quotes from the Olympics about Patrick and edges and some of my thoughts on the future of skating, but I wanted to post IMMEDIATELY when I watched Patrick's new Ex for the first time just now. Like the greatest skaters before him, Patrick can do so much while also doing so little. Every glide, every edge, every pause, I was glued to my computer screen. Even though the commentator comments were minimal and only after each jump, still I thought, "Please be quiet!" I felt reverent, believe it or not, a word I don't normally use in figure skating contexts. I was watching a master present his thoughts to us through his skating. Clearly there is meaning behind every second of that program, and even if I don't specifically know what it is, I know it's there, from the way Patrick performs it so sensitively. But along with that sensitivity there is excitement and happiness. The program is profound in it's simplicity. Free from the demands of competition, Patrick can simply skate, and it is glorious. Thank you Patrick and thank you David Wilson for this program!!! :love::love::love: How lovely to see a gala that is both serious AND fun. When I think of Patrick's past galas, I categorize them as either fun OR serious, but this has both elements. Such a nice combination of reflectiveness about the past and excitement about the future. The look on Patrick's face in that ending pose is to die for!!! :yes: :luv17: How special a moment Patrick created for us in those few minutes. :)
