Patrick Chan | Page 586 | Golden Skate

Patrick Chan

Awww... they were both gorgeous skaters rising up at about the same time. Nice to see all these touching messages about Denis from so many skaters, including Patrick.

Random question - How did we get into the 1000s, page-wise??? I thought we were in the 700s, but now the last page is 1171. I don't think I've missed any posts and, until this one, the most recent post was dated August 2nd. What happened? (I saved several GS posts for a project with the old page numbers and now the page numbers are all wrong. No one but me will see this document, but still, it's funny ).

Today, I went back and watched Patrick's Onyx Hallelujah. It still gives me chills, even knowing that the program evolved a lot later on. There were little transitions I noticed that were dropped/changed in the other performances. It was early and less technically difficult, but there was a freedom as he skated it that didn't return until the Hallelujah Ex. I can't explain how it feels to watch it again, a year later, and feel the same excitement I did when I first watched it. Coupled with the excitement is a profound gratitude and realization of how precious this turned out to be, in light of Patrick's shortened season. And I CANNOT get over those GORGEOUS 3As!!!!! :yay::yay::yay: And it turned out that this was the only clean 3A+1Lo+3S Patrick did in competition. :ohwell: I'm so grateful for Onyx and that somebody in the audience posted a good fancam.

The default number of posts per page changed from 15 to 10; ergo, more pages for the same number of posts.

I swear that I once changed my personal settings to 20 because I found the default of 15 too awkward, but I can't figure out how I did it. You could see if you can figure it out. If you do, I'd be interested in knowing how.

we were hoping to get to 800 ;) mission accomplished

go chiddy!

Guys has Chiddy open his coaching school formally?
I am curious if he is gonna coach one day one of Canada's Next Gen skaters.

Patrick was at JGP Richmond and did an interview with Ted. The interview isn't up yet as far as I can see so keep an eye out for it.

(Yes, I did manage to get a selfie with him :yes2:)

I saw Patrick's tweet about visiting a children's hospital.
I am so proud that he is taking the time to inspire and encourage kids.

Can anyone post a link to what they think is Patrick Chan's best performance of Dust in the Wind? I am always sad that I never saw a perfect performance of it, but I would like to look back at a good one.

Well.. there are not many to choose from.

the first.... and only one with 4s.. but 3a fall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv3EfmRcDyI

Patrick did improve the choreo later on...

and the last...

My choice is the Pyeongchang Individual Event. He seemed most comfortable with the choreography and hit the musical nuances. It was gorgeous!!! Other than the 3A fall, the rest was divine!!! Watch here (CBC commentary, not geoblocked) or here (fancam, where you can fully hear the music and be amazed by Patrick's ice coverage). Enjoy, and thanks for posting in Patrick's thread! :)

In the process of searching for a different article (which I didn't find, so now I'm 99.9% sure that it was on Ice Network), I found this one that I'd never read before. Patrick describes the opening of his Elegie SP until the landing of the 4T+3T. The details he points out are fascinating. I love hearing him describe the process of skating in his own words.

When are Patrick and his team going to do the Thank You Canada Tour? Is there any news about the tour?
