Patrick Chan

oh gosh.. vivley... that tweet can bring up a lot of conversation... and we thought there was nothing to talk about....

chiddy... what are you doing in raincity?

ok..i am having second thoughts too... the tweeter could have seen someone who looks like Patrick Chan... i just cannot believe he would take training time to then go to vancouver when his coach didn't go to nhk... that's just weird.

Good question. Moving?

I’d like to know who those friends were. Were they all underaged? Where was his ID?

The person who tweeted is a media editor who is moving to Mt. Pleasant this weekend... interesting that he so conveniently added that pic of Patrick at the vineyard.

Normally Patrick doesn’t respond on social media, but if this story isn’t true, he should deny it.

well... remember that girl during nationals last year who said she had seen patrick order a drink right before the SP?

I think that everyone thinks they have found waldo chan... but they may be mistaken..

Patrick said last year that he had postponed all the moving and the school for after the games.. it was too much... it doesn't mean he doesn't have business meetings and what not.. but i doubt he is real estate shopping or planning his move right in the middle of the season...

gosh... i will need my unicorn again....

This is BS. Or maybe it's a conspiracy to make him feel young.

i just got this

very witty VB... very witty LOL

Here is Rosie Di Manno's new article
After a rejuvenating trip to Vancouver, BC, where Patrick Chan was refused access to a liquor store because he didn't have ID and looked under 25, one of the 3 uncles of figure skating with Janvier Hernandez and Yuzupooh Hanyou , has found his spring chicken legs back...

Chan, while training in Detroit with Machina Zambonieva, has been spotted landing all sorts of quads. When asked how he was planning to integrate the new jumps in his programs, he simply answered, if the kids can do it, I can do it too. I just need to bring my ID.

Chan is expected to compete next at Canadian Nationals where he is after his 17th consecutive title.

PS and DISCLAIMER I kept Rosie's fondness for typos on figure skating names and factual errors :)

Machina Zambonieva. LOL!

:agree:

(Needs some concern trolling & subtle snideness to be even more convincingly DiManno, though!)

hehe to be honest, I don't read her... just remembered how she butchered facts and especially names... I am just making a quick joke.. hoping nobody will get mad at me ;)

you totally make sense... and i agree.. the biggest disappointment for me wasn't the music choices, the performance at SCI nor the withdrawal of NHK... for me, it was when he announced that he wouldn't even bother attempting the quad sal... that he wanted to have clean programs... My attitude is : take all of your weapons to the war... perhaps some of them will set you back or perhaps you won't need them all.. but leaving some at home will instantly create doubt... Doubt = mental fragility. No need for that in competition.

I totally agree [emoji1360]
That was my disappointment too. It's too much doubt and too much pressure on him to go clean.
Bring it Chiddy!!! You can do it!!!!

for what it's worth : BC liquor store is very strict... and everybody who looks below 25 gets IDed... even if legal drinking age is 19.... I got IDed there once and I was lke :are you kidding me? and the clerk just pointed at the sign, saying that everyone looking below 25 will get IDed... so i took out my ID... i was what??? 35??? I smiled and said thank you, you made my day... and she was like WOW... impressive... LOL...

i was wearing a hoodie and hadn't shaved... i looked like a hipsterish student I guess??? It was around UBC... so...

I don't think this twitter guy created that story....but i am truly wondering why Patrick is not in Detroit training with Marina .... (who sent Oleg to NHK)... like seriously.

Hahahaha! My husband and I were in the liquor store and I was holding the wine and put it on the counter and was asked for ID, but I didn't have my wallet and said "oh my husband has his". That didn't fly and she wouldn't let either of us buy anything then [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]. We had to go to another one [emoji15][emoji849]. I was 42! I would have taken it more as a compliment if I just didn't want wine so bad Hahahaha!!!

So both my conspiracy theory as well as my inspiring epiphany expectation are validated. Thanks 4everchan. ;)

Patrick Chan's ID: Best Figure Skater In The World. Also 3-time World Champion, 2-time Olympic silver medalist, 2-time Grand Prix Final champion, 3-time Four Continents champion, and 9-time Canadian national champion. And a wine label, apprecianado, and promoter.

So Patrick is booted off a liquor store for looking under 25 when he's 42 preparing to win his 17th consecutive National title? Who are the "the kids" he's competing against?

With Yuzu withdrawing from NHK and Shoma not there, Patrick would have had a fabulous chance to win NHK. Of course, Patrick had his reasons for withdrawing early and there was no way to predict Yuzu's injury, and Patrick's happiness is most important, but still the thought crossed my mind. The GPF will be so strange without Patrick or Yuzu or Javi. :(

All these just validate my belief that anything can happen and Patrick needs not concern himself with the extraneous factors but only has to do his own best by following his bliss and ideals, i.e. focusing on himself and listening within, not without.

I agree... I hope Patrick opens his mind up and realizes that all he needs is to be healthy and ready to skate... the rest is not something he can control and ANYTHING could happen. That's the nature of the sport. Athletes get injured all the time (not sure if you guys follow skicross but the Sochi OGM, Canadian Marielle Thompson just suffered and ACL injury and may not be able to defend her title.. she was the heavy favourite).... or athletes underperform all the time..( no need to name anyone here)...

So, all a competitor can do is to work, get ready, and try his best.

GO PATRICK!

In Asia, he would have no problem buying liquor. It’s easier.

Or even just in the USA or in other places in Canada.... BC is particularly rough.... the only place I have lived where everyone must show ID in a club or at the liquor store...

Somehow though, I still think the guy who thought he saw Patrick was daydreaming ;) i mean... i see Patrick in my soup too... but I know he is home training...

 How I wish your "joke" were real! It was so convincing. Good job!

Honestly, I'm starting to worry too much about Patrick, perhaps even to the point of annoying family members. I hope his last two weeks have been rejuvenating and he goes back to training refreshed.

But if he has moved, then I say, "welcome to Pacific Time!" :agree:

He hasn't moved... LOL... impossible... not 2 months before the Olympics... I think that guy was drunk ;)
