Virtue / Moir serve notice at worlds......

I generally like Virtue/Moir, but I have to say as a young team, they pale in comparison to the talent of Silverstein and Pekarek. Those two were truly amazing, and I was so devasated when they broke up.....I think Virtue/Moir are good too, but they sure are being benefited by the new system. Without that in store, they would not have had the meteoric rise that they've been having. I believe Silverstein/Pekarek placed like 15th at their first worlds outing, despite that they were truly, truly outsanding.

Silverstein & Pekarek were unbelievable. It's truly a shame things happened the way they did. I'm sure they could have been great stars.

Its Silverstein was unbelievable dacer (when she skated with Pekarek) - she was born to dance on the ice. Pekarek was usual skater without any unnormal talant - just solid skater. And it was sad, when Silverstein stop skating :cry:When she return at 2006 - she wasnt THAT Jamie - it was another skater. If Scott and Jamie was born in one time, they can be a one of the best teams in history.
In V/M i like there pairing work, there connection and very close technical level

I disagree with your assessment of Justin Pekarek. I think Justin was fabulous -- and had the potential to be one of the best male dancers ever. He was very expressive, had beautiful lines, posture, and terrific skating and partnering skills.

Yes, I strongly disagree too. He was the solid rock of the team, and the chemistry between them IMO was so much more electrifying and real than the one between Scott and Tessa. It wasn't just a one-man show by Jamie; Pekarek was equally talented.

Did you saw him with another patner?
For me this team was WOW (she was) and i was in shock, when they stop there skating and then he start with very ordinary girl (in one interwie Shpilband sad, that Pekarek didnt want skate anymore). And she lost a lot off time.... Very sad story for me

S&P broke up because of Jaime -- she was suffering from anorexia (and associated mental health issues) and couldn't skate anymore. Justin was left without a partner, took some time off, and then came back, skating with Hilary Gibbons (whom I believe was his girlfriend at the time?). Unfortunately, Hilary was not as good a skater as Justin, so that team had limited potential.

Jaime was the one who decided to leave skating, and also the one who decided to come back for the Olympics. It was a sad story, but nice to know that she was able to get the help that she needed and now seems to be okay.

Thank you for information. I heard infromation from Igor at TL 2002. And heard from Tarasova, that Justin fall in love with another girl and didnt want skate with Jamie. Maybe she was wrong.
Thank you for reall information.
