...when you spot that "Ladies In Lavender" is on this afternoon, and you think of figure skating. Purely because of a discussion related to the film that you were involved with on this forum last week.
See what you have done to me, @elektra blue and @Totentanz !!!
I want to see it to find out what you guys were on about, but I don't think I will be able to tape it today (I would have to clear some space on the machine first). Fortunately, it is repeated on Sunday, so I'll hopefully catch it them.

You rush up to Petsmart to buy Pride bear plushies to be thrown to skaters. My poor BIL. He always thinks we will get out from under plushies...some day. @Seven Sisters says my plushie bags look like body bags.

- when you have a folder on Twitter called "Figure Skating" to save your bookmarks, another one named the same on Instagram, a "Figure Skating" playlist on Youtube AND a Figure Skating Music playlist too, to put all the songs you've thought they'd be great to skate on, and you hope to convince your coaches to choreograph you programs for them one day.
- when you travel to see your favorite skater, make sure to take a photo of hers and when she's close to you, you completely fangirl her, ask her to sign it, get so happy & excited to talk to her that you even forget to take a photo WITH the skater, but keep that important signed photo in your skate bag (true story).
- you buy the same training clothes your favorite skater wears.
- you only keep your good paying day job because it allows you to finance all your coaching sessions, ice time, clothing & equipment and your figure skating related travels.

When you start buying outfits and accessories to watch skaters skate in. I just bought a gold jacket from EBay for the next time I see Gracie skate (in a comp or exhibition). Also have gold nail polish. Also have Canada nail polish. And am pestering them to make Philippines flag nail polish and Israeli flag nail polish.

I saw them on TV…I think one was gold and one red? I was like “that is so me.”

...when you watch an episode of "The Darling Buds Of May", and reach the credits, and when you see the name of an actress in the guest cast, you think "she has the same name as the boyfriend of a retired skater". (Their first name is one of those diminutives that can be short for a variety of names, both male and female).
And the fact that you know the name of the boyfriend of a retired skater in the first place is indication in itself that you are a figure skating fan! Especially when he is not a skater himself.
To be fair, the only reason I know his name is that I have been working on an update to his girlfriend's Fan Fest. I probably wouldn't have come across him otherwise.

...when you see a contestant on "Pointless", and you think "she looks a LOT like Anna Ovcharova". 
The player in question was a student from Cheshire who was at Uni in Scotland, and was 20 years old at the time (the episodes were filmed in or shortly after April 2022, so she is pobably 21 or maybe even 22 now). Her name was Sasha, so I wonder if she might actually have Russian heritage. You never know, she could even be related to Anna!
Anyway, on their first show, Sasha and her flatmate got knocked out in Round 3 (the head-to-head). On their second show, they got knocked out in Round 2. And on their third and final show, they again got knocked out in Round 2. So, they went home with nothing.
By the way, the episodes I am watching at the moment are from the start of Series 28, the first series after Richard Osman left to concentrate on his other projects. What they are doing now is having celebrities taking turns in the seat, each doing a block of 11 shows. It's kinda like what "Countdown" has been doing for years with their Dictionary Corner.
So far, I am not enjoying the new format. I am really missing Richard. Thank goodness he is still on the Celebrity shows!
I'll stick with it until "The Chase" comes back from it's summer break. That'll give me a chance to see what a few more of the guest co-presenters are like. But, if they don't improve, I'll not be in a hurry to catch up on any more.

In a thread about personal season awards for 2022/2023, I made a category called "Skaters I am newly a fan of" and listed one of them as "the Taschlers from Finland" and went on my way. This happened four months ago, right after Worlds. Well, yesterday I was looking back at the start list for the Worlds FD and realized I had made a mistake. Maybe you've already caught it. 
I intended to highlight Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis in that post, who are, in fact, from Finland. Natalie Taschlerova and Filip Taschler, on the other hand, are from the Czech Republic. I am sure the Czech siblings have their own nice qualities, but I found T&V's FD particularly mesmerizing last season. I rewatched it just now to make sure it's the program I was thinking of, and I found the experience just as mesmerizing as it was the first time I saw it.
This belongs in this thread because (1) I knew both dance teams existed, despite both of them representing small feds; (2) I knew enough to get their names and countries mixed up; (3) I remembered what I'd written in a GS post from four months ago; (4) I discovered my error through looking at the Worlds FD start list; and (5) I felt the need to correct this error I made four months ago.
So, I want to say thank you to JUULIA TURKILA AND MATTHIAS VERSLUIS from Finland for sharing that incredible FD with us! I look forward to seeing what programs they bring us next season!

Rachmaninov's "Piano Concerto #2" was frequently played during the film. And we all know how often it gets skated to!
One of the minor characters (played by Austrian actor Oscar Homolka) was called Dr. Brubaker, which obviously made me think of Rockne.
Marilyn Monroe's character was 22, which is the same age as my main skating crush. And Tom Ewell's character was 38, which will be my age in a few months time. Which gives me hope...
Even the pair of roller skates that featured made me think of figure skating!
