Your opinion on Skate Canada

What I found most interesting was that the RUSSIAN judge gave V/M the highest PCS scores in the FS: the only 10s (in CO and IN) and 9.75 in everything else, thus allowing the Canadian judge's high scores to stand.

Does this portend a deal between Canada and Russia for Russia to back V/M for the World Championship vs. the French in return for a World medal for Bob/Sol?

:laugh2: omg... that is the best conspiracy theory i have read and you have written many... yeah right... :whack:

chukm conspiracy theorie make sense Russia/USA relations are at their lowest point since the cold war, if Russia can screw the US in ice dance and help Canada and france for a world medal they would do it.

^^ well... for that, it would imply canada wants a deal with countries that plotted against them in 2002... not happening...

on top of that, Weapo should benefit from such a deal... they are now training in russia after all ;)

still laughing... :yahoo:

Russia is NOT going to help France---they are still rankling over the 2002 debacle. The whole point is to screw USA and France

Well Canada will be in a position of strength at worlds this year the only major federation with a judge in every event the idea of making deals with skate Canada is quite enticing.

It's almost my one year anniversary of joining goldenskates. This is the most important lesson that I've learned in my time here! :)

If you sincerely believe that this kind of gamesmanship is going on, would you please provide evidence and explain how you believe that it could be done?

There is a thread on this point on the edge because a number of us are tired of these kinds of unsubstantiated accusations being made at seemingly every GP event.

If your really believe there is bias and unfairness please back up your assertion.

And ideally, many of us would welcome suggestions on how not just fairness, but also perceptions of fairness could be improved.

I like how we go from the anonymous system in which we assume everyone is cheating unless it can be proven otherwise, to now concocting complex narratives on why judges scored an event a certain way. Having said that, ice dance is so subjective at the top that I'm sure deals are made to place athletes in a certain order since you don't have as many major errors that compel judges to mark down skaters who fall.

chuckm has also just demonstrated his lack of knowledge of the state of Canada-Russia diplomatic relations in the past few years.....it makes me weep, and I really wish the situation were different, but it boggles me to hear an accusation that Canada is going to be favoured for some political reason at present.

underwhelming (but then again I had work so :confused2:)

but so much better than SkAm though

i should send you some cake ;) remember the one with Patrick as a topper? HAHA...

One year of good times, and crazy crossings :)

May the next year be just as fun :) :party2:
