2015 Russian Nationals Mens FS

Me too, Alba. I still have faith. I will never lose it.

Which is probably why I'm bawling my eyes out at nearly 4am.

 He needs faith. The jumps are not lost. I heard he's working with a psychologist also.

He didn't fall though. He doubled a quad and had a messy spin. And Voronov himself made errors on his second quad and second axel that would have otherwise given him the win.

The PCS buffer Kovtun also had entering the FS also helped.

Eh, I think Kovtun should get the same PCS as Voronov or Voronov should get the same PCS as Kovtun. It's not like one of them has exceptional skating skills or transitions that the other didn't.

Congratulations to the new Russian champion - Maxim! ♥ I was so nervous during his free programme :D But he made it! I am so glad, because I'm not a fan of Voronov or Menshov at all. :/ Congrats to Adian Pitkeev, Alexander Petrov and Artur, too. Well done, guys!
Oh please, don't rub it in. Artur and Sasha hardly had good skates.

Because it's the Totaly Evile Plushenko. And everything he does is wrong to CSG.
Hey, let's not add 'e's' to adjectives. In French it's done as the feminine form of adjectives. In my sleep-deprived state I'm seeing a bunch of dancing Assisai Plushenko's. ...Though maybe that would've been more fun to watch than this competition...

That will help.

I always said that if you could somehow bottle Plushy's self-belief and feed just a spoonful of it to Artur, he would be unstoppable. I still wish I could. I wish I could show him I believe in him and make him believe it, too...

So how does it feel to see him gifted the title and not earn it?

Can you ever stop being such a child about the skaters you hate? You make it impossible to read PBP threads here or on FSU, even for those of us who have no horse in this race with your incessant whining and complaining about scores when it's painfully obvious that you don't even understand what the PCS is supposed to reward.

God, it's all so depressing...poor Sasha. Poor Kostya. Poor Sergei. Poor Artur. At least Adian got a medal, good for him.
Not sure why anyone engages with the broken-record Kovtunbot, but I think I will start using the ignore feature for the first time...
:laugh2::thumbsup:

Remember when I said Kovtun has a 2 fall advantage in the LP? Yup. Rus Fed's pecking order. I hate it too. Anyway Voronov is definitely going to both Euros and Worlds. Menshov's Euros slot, I dunno. Rus Fed likes Pitkeev a little, they might send him. But it's hard to say because internationally, Adyan's presentation just cannot cut it.

I would send Menshov, at least to Euros. Adian is young, and I think Menshov deserves another chance.

Nope, this is an unacceptable excuse. Artur was also 17 the first time he went to Worlds and he came away with a medal - something Kovtun, even at a weak post-Olympic Worlds, has so far failed to do!

Good point. Artur was in the same position of being Russia's only representative at his World's debut at the same age. And he got on the podium.

But, I am just saying that Voronov or Menshov could have coped better with the responsibility of being Russia's only representative than Kovtun. They had both been competing at Senior Level for years, and had both competed at Worlds before. So, there would have been a lot less pressure on them then there was on Kovtun, who was in his first year at Senior Level, and so had never been to Senior Worlds before.

That said, I think Kovtun could more than cope with being put in that position now!

But, that is all history. It's just unfortunate that Russia are still feeling the after-effects.

By the way, I just looked at the results from the 2011 Russian Nationals, and saw that Menshov won, with Gachinski in 2nd. So, is there a particular reason why Menshov wasn't sent to Worlds that year? (I didn't watch National Championships back then, so I didn't realise Gachinski wasn't Russian Champion).

Congratulations, I just smiled. Sort of.

Assisai Plushy would be more fun to watch than Kovtun. Any day of the week.

I would send Menshov too. But for the reason that across 2 programs, he will score better internationally than Adian.

IIRC, I think Gachinski beat Menshov at Euros? Which is the argument they used for sending Kovtun. Kovtun was the highest placing Russian at at Euros. So really I question him being sent there in the first place.

We're talking about the Russian fed here. They don't want to send Old Man Menshov.

Besides, can you imagine what they'd do if Sergei and Kostya repeated last year's awesomeness?

Artur beat Menshov at Euros.

ETA: IIRC that was also the Nationals Artur decided landing a 3A on his knee was a good idea. Silly what you remember.

Another good reason to send Menshov. Besides, there is no reason to push Adian and put him more pressure. He still needs to improve a lot.

If Rus Fed is sensible they will send Menshov. Sadly, I fear the worst for him. :(

Thank you both! That would totally explain everything.
