2015 US Nationals Senior Ladies FS Jan 24

I am hoping Mirai gets thrown the 4CC bone again. Or at least gets a Grand Prix assignment. I like Gracie but dislike the plastic packaging Frank has been trying to cram her into. She needs more jazz and less princess. Maybe James Bond.

Considering the circumstances I don't see why she wouldn't receive a Grand Prix next year. Her blade catching the board was a freak accident and she started so well:(

Definitely not, but all I'm saying is that at the world championships and Olympics and gpf she deserved 130+. And yes, judges don't like her because her style doesn't fit the ," classic skater. "

Honestly, you shouldn't look at ANY Olympic judging. That is the most political sports event in all of Sport. Olympic judging is also inflated because lots of people are watching, so the ISU want to show off.

To put it plainly : Olympic scores are whack.

Also, Ashley was kinda dumped by the USFSA in 2014 to ride the Gracie hype train as far as it could. (Also, because Gracie was skating much better.)

If she wasn't loved by the judges she wouldn't get the PCS she gets. Simple as that.

Are the protocols out? I am curious how many 10s Ashley got :P

I was really pleased with all the great performances tonight. USA has a bright future in ladies and can't wait for worlds.

When I said that I meant her goes were too high. Improper scoring 9/10 always comes from goe.

Compared to the parade of +3s we saw for the men in the SP, her GOEs were pretty conservative when you consider nationals inflation. Lots of 0s and 1s. The judges really only went nuts on her step sequences.

Positive GOE is "improper scoring"?

No need for discussion of this and that. It taste "bitter". Just grab your favorite wine and join us... and let's make a toss for Ms. Ashley Wagner. It's more fun than trying to be an expert on subject matter when you know you're really not. Because if you are, you should be traveling and judging at every competition.

Oh it's tough Gracie I know. These lessons you have to learn in skating, it doesn't just happen. Defending champion is a very hard place to be. Michelle did it many times, but how many Michelle Kwans are out there? Gold looks really deflated, I am sure she had endorsers that wanted her to win. I found her program slow and not very exciting. Ashley figured something out and now she might very well be unstoppable. She worked her butt off to get back onto the top step of the podium, mentally as well as physically. I think missing the GPF costs Gracie a lot and where Gracie lost Ashley gained.

Very happy fro Ashley!:)

Huh? I'm in agreement with the judges. They are the experts, not us.
