2015 Worlds Ladies Free Skate March 28

Polina and Kare Chen because Gracie did not get it done either.

Karen Chen is battling her own inconsistency. Look at her Jr. World record. She's probably even worse than Gracie when it comes to holding it together. I think she would crap her pants in the LP here.
Polina doesn't have the wow factor to become top tier.

He has been keeping up with Worlds btw, just not commenting on the forum. Plus he is working on something else quite a bit & still is involved with the Predictions Game. He hasn't dropped FS completely :)

It still feels weird for him not to be celebrating here with us though. I miss him, that's all.

Oh I miss him too & I've been talking to him! Just wanted you to know he hasn't stopped caring about the sport :)

I am so happy for Satoko. I hope she keeps working on her jumps, Still too low.
Gracie and Ashley need to be more consistent. Ashely should copy Satoko and do two 2a-3toes instead of going for 3flip-3toe and get downgraded every time.

Hongo improved a lot. Her posture didn't bother me as much tonight. She needs to work on her spins.. they are all bad. All of her spins are really ugly and poorly positioned. Please go work with a spin coach.

Really? I thought Tuk was lacking in artistry. Ashley and Gracie should have gotten the highest PCS, to me. I also think Satoko is very musical.

I really don't think Ashley is that artistic. She is powerful sure, but I don't really find anything creative about her. I guess that is how I define an artistic skater whether that is right or wrong I do not know. I don't dislike Ashley but I would describe her FS more as intimidating. She kind of mean mugs to the music and carries a very dramatic face. TBH I thought she had the most flailing arms or maybe just pointless use of arms to be more PC of about anyone this season. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea and I really don't think I'd ever gripe about her scores but....artistic. I am not seeing it. She earns her stripes in other ways. BTW....she earned some stripes tonight. Good job to her for holding it together.

Sometimes I feel Satoko is very musical and other times not so much. I do like her choreography a lot and am weird in that I actually liked her SP much better than her FS this season.:slink: I loved the steps right out of the 3f that match the piano and her step sequence much better in the SP. I really wonder what she is going to do next year. What kind of programs and will her jumps improve?

Um, rather than "pushing" anyone, I'm glad to see the judges/techs calling it as they see it (and as they have devoted tons of volunteer hours learning to do.)

He may not even know the ladies results yet... (last I spoke to him, he hadn't seen the Ladies SP yet and didn't want me to spoil it for him, so was unaware of the 3A!)

Gracie isn't my favorite (I hate her programs and am one of her biggest critics), but her speed and quality of movement was really jarring, in a good way, when compared to the ladies the groups that preceded her. She had a 7-triple FS with excellent spins and strong SS compared to most of the field. Basically, I think she's better with a sub-par program than a good portion of competitors, even if their choreo is superior to hers. I don't always enjoy watching her, but I can understand why she scores the way she does, PCS-wise.
I agree. She tends to leave me cold, but there's definite quality to her movement. Aside from IN, she should probably be getting the highest PCS - even though I love Ashley so much more.

I passed a truck full of dirtbikers and bikes the other day and thought about him. I'm pretty sure that is something he is into. He will be missed in his break from posting. That is for sure. :hijacked:

I heard Satoko worked on her jumps with Kulik last summer. I am hoping she would find a technical coach who can help her with jumps. Hamada's students are not know to be good jumpers. Most of her students lose their jumps by the time they turn 20yo.

Nonsense. If any of the HOLY TRINITY comes back, there is a basis of comparison. The Russian girls will be so deficient compared to them.

Holy Trinity? Tuktamysheva and Radionova were bright lights in a post-Olympic season. I know some fans can't stand to see Russian ladies on top. True, they weren't at their best tonight, but both ladies have had wonderful seasons. Sasha Cohen? I would take either of these fine Russian warriors over Sasha. Different strokes for different folks.

Edmunds was held down again.

Anyone know what is the rule regarding inadvertent turns/steps between jumps intended to be a combo? Does the tech panel have discretion on whether to call it one combo or two distinct elements that take up two jump slots? Current example would be Liza's combos in her LP at Worlds. Curiously they were still called combinations despite the turns.
