Will anyone do a POTO next season?
I'm pretty sure that lift made it to my favorite smiley moments video I made. Isn't she smiling up a storm? For me, Les Mis will always be Felicia looking *so* triumphant during Zhang/Bartholomay's last lift at 2014 US Nats. That program, as a "happy place", is second only to Jason's Riverdance. But I wish Karen luck...
Maia and Alex got a lot of love for their exhibition this year, so I think this is a fantastic choice! It's an emotional song but not necessarily a romantic one. They should be able to show off their chemistry without having to worry about weirding people out.
Their Coldplay EX was definitely the stand out for the season. Great news about their FD as it should be similar. BTW, Lambiel did an EX to
"Fix You" back in 2006. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTormYCNeaw

Pechalat & Bourzat FD 2006 Europeans to Les Miserables in their home town of Lyon, France. I was fortunate enough to be in the audience....and I still get goose bumps watching it on YouTube. As you can hear from the British announcers, it brought the house down. Note the very young Romain Haguenauer in the Kiss and Cry. They were the 2nd French team behind Delobel & Schoenfelder and placed 11th.
Just because I was curious I checked the protocols for that event and I was shocked to see that they received a 34 PCS What were the judges watching? A Junior couple? (I know that PCS marks were much lower at the beginning of the IJS era, but still...) Just a perfect example of what (watched almost 10 years later) can be described as "being the #2 couple bias" mechanism :hopelessness:http://tinyurl.com/mss8wow

Les Mis has more interesting riches, themes, characters, stories, varied emotions weaving through out in synchronicity and balance rather than just another love triangle story with a cliched ending to give more variety of creative presentations. Enough material in multiple languages, versions over a few decades and with vocals allowed now, it is too tempting not to have a go.
.
I would really like a Les Miserables program that wholly focuses on the revolutionary theme, rather than the romance.
I got hints of that from Kim's and C/B's Les Miz, but IMO it would take a more masculine male skater to really focus on that theme. I think Brezina for example would interpret that really well. Fernandez can also do it justice, I'd say, since he's quite good at playing characters.
YES to BOTH...but maybe not in the same season.
