2015-2016 Programs by Discipline

I think that Ashley Wagner stayed in samba character more or less during the whole programme, Sotnikova mostly only during footwork.

I have the feeling that Ashley's SP will get better in time, she sells it already, but as it's a new program and it doesn't come naturally to her yet. Adelina has already performed her SP a couple of times and she' really into it, I like it very much. When it comes to costuming and music choice Adelina is the clear winner right now. Ashley's costume doesn't do much for her, I don't like that top on her, it makes her shoulders look unnecessarily broad and the skirt isn't my cup of tea either. I usually like Ashley's costumes.

It is not her short program costume. She has been wearing that costume since Skate On Ice, which was toured in May.She definitely will get a new one.

That's because Sotnikova program is a rumba/samba as explained during one of her interviews.

Well, in that case she did not stay in rumba/samba character during her programme, mostly only in footwork .

What's Rumba/Samba character for you then?

And when I said Ashley is a little too reserved for a Samba for me (which of course could change with more outings of the program), I mean I'm missing hip and upper body action. She has quite a few Samba steps, but Samba isn't about the feet for me

V/M and I/K set standards for hip hip chin chin imo. But this is probably one of the less annoying programs of Wagner's.

Ashley's programme, from beginning to end, is full of transitions with Samba movements. She interprets music in every second of programme. However, when we take a look at Adelina's programme, we see that she interprets music only in step sequence, but again, she doesn't do that as strong as Ashley does.Rumba part of her programme is weak, but she sells it well still. It is a good programme, but it lacks transition.
