2016 Cup of China Ladies FS

that one is always marked with a carrot... to confuse us... they make it as an under-rotated Loop instead of 1/2 loop... they figure a carrot takes like room than 1/2
How do you underrotated a half loop? Does it become a quarter loop? *brain explodes*

i was very happy looking at the protocols... it makes me happy when i feel a jump is not rotated and the carrot appears on the protocol... there were many today unfortunately but it seemed fair...

Yup...we're not in Boston anymore.

Liza is the highlight of the FS today for me despite two mistakes, but her mistakes look relatively small compared to her competitors. Elena won the title, but her jump landings are so....iffy. During Liza's performance, I thought her spins got much better, so assuming that Lambiel helped her for that. :)
It's also the dress, it looks nice when she's spinning.

Ashley only got 1 triple called clean

If I counted right, that's 31 carrots between 12 girls! Now Shin Amano has his food stock and can stuff his belly and maybe go into hibernation.

I agree and I don't worry too much about Ashley, she just wasn't at her best at this competition. The current field is very strong, small mistakes are costly.

This is vintage Wagner were UR's are bread and butter. Too bad for her she got Amano as technical specialist. She should at least be thankful he was not at Worlds last season.

So here's the standings

Evgenia Medvedeva - 30
Elena Radionova - 28
Kaetlyn Osmond - 26
Ashley Wagner - 20
Mai Mihara - 20
Elizaveta Tuktmysheva -20
Courtney Hicks -14
Zijun Li - 13
Rika Hongo - 12

Still left:
Anna Pogrilaya - 15
Maria Sotskova - 13
Wakaba Higuchi - 11
Satoko Miyahara - 11

Oddly enough Alaine Chartrand if she does what she does occasionaly--which is medal in a GP and surprise everyone, she might enable Ashley to make GPF if she gets silver or bronze, assuming 2 of the top 4 above get the other two spots. If Alaine does the crazy thing and wins, then she would end up nabbing the GPF spot for herself. Crazy RIGHT?

It was Ashley's worst EVER results at an GP event. :eeking:
Her previous worst placement was at the NHK Trophy six years ago. This also shows how incredibly consistent she has been since then.

best jumping of the day... disappointed with the program though... not much content in there.

I think I could do a 1/2 loop underrotateded to 1/4 loop. When is my GP placement coming through. I'm going to skate to Jingle Cats. No one will know what hit them.

i like that he is obsessed about quality and rotation of the jumps honestly... we need people like him, so that girls work on improving their technique... the sport is only going to get better IMHO.. it is rough on girls who were used to get by though, i will admit that.. but i still believe it's very positive for the image of the sport as well.
I bet he would be very much into it. He's a textbook bureaucrat.

wow that is what i call an ambitious prediction!!!
(i had Zijun in 5th and Liza in 6th too. rip)

i got the top 6 scrambled :,(

Why "juniorish" ? I don't get it. Because she is not skating to tango or turandot? Or because she enjoys her skating? Or because her dress is green and not black or red?

Why ask if you already seem to know why she's juniorish to me? I mean a green dress...that practically screams kid. *s*
