2017 Worlds Short Dance

Hmm, I've noticed when they're introducing the skaters with the little info bar that Ice Dancers don't have anything descriptive for the music! So far they've all just said "Blues, Swing" is that a normal thing in Ice Dancing? Curious minds want to know!
 
Holy bling batman. If that dress was white I'd think I was watching Say Yes to the Dress.

This music is very somnolent.

so far I think we have lots of fun, I enjoyed Spaniards, Japanese, French and Koreans the most, we had one hot catsuit alert on Kavita Lorenz, few MJ's mash-ups and Olivia Smart being Marilyn Monroe!

now Tina and Simon from Armenia, last duo from group 3.
 
Well the most memorable thing for me about the Armenians is her dress, which I thought was quite beautiful.

They're quite the throwback team. That SD was positively pre-Torvill and Dean. Embrace the present dears! You'll enjoy it so much more!
 
Her dress is the only interesting thing about this skate

Are there really 7 warm up groups?! I feel bad for thinking I should have slept longer...

Yep, that's the norm for Ice Dance. They only refer to the rhythm that is being used (is that the right terminology?)

And I hate it being done like that! If I don't recognise a piece of music, I would like to know what it is. And you can't do that with those graphics.

It used to be the same on the ISU Bios. It is only in the past season or two that they started telling us the actual pieces of music that were being used for each rhythm.

So, at least that's a start.

I realize now, stupidly, why we are seeing so much blue and black: Because everyone has to do the midnight blues! Sheesh. It's only taken me all season to catch on. I feel really silly now.

Looking forward to next season to seeing some colour and flare in those rumba dresses. I'd pay to see Scott Moir put some Chiquita bananas on his head.

Sorry to disappoint you, but they are both Canadian. And used to both skate together for Canada.

Although, from her name, she obviously has Armenian ancestry.

Eurosport 2 has just started their coverage.

Two of the teams I root for are in this flight! Team Dirty Dance and Team Turkey.

On the other hand is that the Belrus team with the dreadful, awful techno version of Hello? I'm still angry with them for subjecting me to that during the GP season.

When their teams get a bad score, they look to their coaches, and both of them (for separate teams, of course, since they don't work together) seem to just smile blandly and shrug.

I don't know why, but it makes me feel kind of uncomfortable.

Perhaps they don't understand or don't agree with the scores, so in one case they're trying to figure out, in another case they don't want to show judges what they really think about.
And Marie-France 's couples are really gong better than Igor's and Marina's so far.
