Again, I'm going to keep pushing back against this fallacy that every technical panel is somehow lenient or overscoring.

Mirai's -3T was UR.

I get it, it's nationals, and she's not the only one who will get things like that overlooked (especially the favorites who are prone to URing, like Karen and Ashley, may also benefit). But then seeing soooooo many people complain about PCS underscoring....Mirai has improved quite a bit from earlier in the season, but she's no Carolina Kostner or Mao Asada, and she hasn't earned high PCS by virtue of repeated clean performances, either.

Everyone is hating on Bradie because she isn't an inconsistent mess like everyone's faves are (my faves are inconsistent messes too - it's okay). Clean performance after clean performance will boost your PCS. Bradie would have more of a lead over Mirai if this was an international competition and the tech panel wasn't lenient.

Perhaps Mirai's TES would have been lower, but internationally Bradie definitely wouldn't have had so much higher PCS than Mirai....

Bradie's SPs have been clean all season, and her PCS were 27.44 and 29.38 at home, whereas Mirai had PCS in the mid 30s for botched skates worse than the one today. So Mirai's PCS was in line with what she would have gotten internationally, while Bradie's was at least 2 points too high.

Anyway I think Ave Maria is taking the easy way out. It is like feeding sugar to a child (judges), they don't have to try as hard to like it, or care about the flavour, texture, if any...

The Schubert or even Gounod settings, I would agree, but the Caccini is rarely performed, so I always sit back and enjoy when I hear it.

I'm hating on bradie because she's boring and has little charisma and the us fed blatant thirst to have her on the Olympic team is so annoying

Performance wise, MUCH better than Skate Canada and Skate America! Obviously the combo was not good but the performance quality and speed were much improved.
