2018 US Championships Sr. Ladies FS

As far as I can tell, Bradie is like Alina Zagitova without the backloading and slightly less transitions. Great elements, less than stellar maturity, posture, body positions, etc. US judges are just learning from how ISU judges judge.

Thank you!
And while I suppose they could package her a little better, you cannot buy charisma. And her in/pe is really bad for someone who is almost 20, so all the talk of there's time for progress is really puzzling me.

It’s better than Mai’s Cinderella from last season (also by Richaud?).

Oh yes, seen both live. Miss Karen should have at least 10 points clear of Ashley in the LP. Karen's skating skills are world class. Ashley's is more junior girls. She is weaker than every single one at the jr gpf this year. After years of inflation, I am glad they pulled her down a bit. Although, she should be at least 5 points lower in the LP in PcS.

She is a white girl attempting to throw shade on twitter. Weak shade without looking at her own self in the mirror. It is only harsh when she is genuinely trying. And in this case, she just wants to run her mouth.

Racist.

Talented skaters not going to the Olympics - it is quite a list...

Wakaba
Mai Mihara
Elena Radionova
Anna Pogo

Ashley? Maybe she would have been better off skating for Germany...

So confused how Ashley Wagner has a world silver medal... with less than stellar basic skating and wonky jump technique

Frank is that you? Lol the only person who she threw genuine shade to was Frank...all the others were honest criticism that wasn't super harsh.

You must missed your own irony. First you claimed she was giving honest criticism. Remember I said she couldn't do double anymore. That is also a fact and an honest reminder where she is. You think you are clever?

*edit*, so sorry, I was responding to a post about how Bradie may still not be the best choice for the OGs, but it didn't quote properly and now I can't find it!

I have to agree to an extent. If there weren't so many contenders for the three spots, I wouldn't have any problems with it at all. She certainly is a great and consistent skater, but ultimately she is unproven outside of the States, and with such comparatively weaker skating skills and PCs already, that really does concern me. If she had had even had two GP placements and hadn't made it to the GPF but still done well, I would feel worlds more confident in her abilities at the Games. Right now, the only skater I can actually feel 99% confident about putting in the best showing there is Mirai, and after her I would say Karen, Ashley, and Bradie could all potentially be great, or could potentially crash and burn. Bradie is just such an unknown outside the US at the end of it.

Hey, we sucked at ice dance in the nineties! They were doing us a favor, going and getting 10th
They helped set the stage for Belbin/Agosto, then Davis and White. A foundation is needed to produce a champion.

You are thinking of Punsalan/Swallow or maybe Lang/Tchernyshev now. Roca/Sur never made the Olympics.

Both the above teams coached by Liz Coates and Igor Shpilband, who started the dynasty of American Ice Dance, before Liz was Ousted for Marina Zueva.

I don't think its US judges learning from how ISU judges judge as much as their wanting to reward a skater who can do all her elements clean with ease after experiencing so much inconsistency over the last 10 years. Their just ultra thrilled to have a skater who stands on her feet and rotates everything and who could blame them :confused2:

I mean, they probably would have, if Punsalan/Swallow hadn't blocked Sur's citizenship being expedited (which I just wrote a paper on). But Roca/Sur helped Punsalan and Swallow get there (even choreographing their program for their win in '92). I'll just put those four at a tie ;)
