This is an article on Feb.7, it says Chan has been getting motivated to do both SP and FS because winning in the team event is the ardent wish.

The main issue for me (maybe it has already been discussed, but I really don't have the time to read through 137 pages, sorry

) was that most of these skaters (not only Chan, but also Chen, Kolyada) didn't really want to compete here, they had no motivation and no enthusiasm, and why blame them? Their focus is on the individual competition, as it should be. This Team Event thing really is a disgrace: it adds nothing while taking away energy and time :scowl:

The team event should happen *after* the individual imo. Because the skaters care much more about the individual it just messes with the whole event.

Tarasova/ Morozov are so good. I wish that the programs were better.
I love Shoma's SP. He usually gives 150% in every program. This was not his best but he held it together well.
That's a depressing thought, even though I want Team USA to get a medal.

Yes, I love Satoko so much. I hope she does well in both the team and the individual events.

I agree- there is no meaning of the Team event, or, as you say- it is a disgrace. So many hours, so many years, and lot of hard work to be qualified for the Olympics and then... this Team event, which is rather a sacrifice.

I love the team event but think it should follow the individual. It could be a second chance and I think people would fight hard who needed or wanted redemption or even just another opportunity at a medal that regardless of what people say is worth as much as any other Olympic medal.

Russia looks like it is out of luck for the gold Or OAR unless Osmond and Daleman bomb. A lot will depend on whether D/R skate both programs and if Chan gets his act together. Keegan is like giving the medal away with a ribbon and wrapping paper. In fact Keegans lack of expefrience may also be achallenge for Bradie. It has beenbradie this bradie thatbradie is consistentbut this is a world stage event. Expectations are high remember Nathan Chen - though he willcome back - I do believe.
Do I dare say USA for gold? If we go on the Bradie bandwagon she could get second if Osmond, Kostner and Satoko tumble. Idon't think it is all that huge of ristouse Mirai because Bradieisn't all that experienced and Mirai seems determined.
I think S/M were marked very generous; D/R were wonderfuland deserved a bigger scofe over the Germans. Noquest T/Mwerethe best.

GPF 2017/2018 FS was like that. The young ones were playing let's try not to win this event.

It should definitely be after the individual like wtt; the skaters are more used to it that way, and they could actually invest in it and have fun.
Though I'm not sure Chan doesn't want to be here since Canada has a real chance at gold here, probably more than he has at individual (not to say he doesn't have a chance at individual gold)
Shoma has the least reason to do TE given Japans chances, but he did the best here.

Gonna be interesting to see how the Men's podium will look if the guys keep imploding like this
Right now Shoma, Fernandez and Jin feel like they're the most composed, But who even knows
