2018 Worlds Mens Free Skate

I beg to differ, I think Nathan’s costume is classy and sophisticated in its simplicity, and the hambok-inspired collar (which I assume was intentional for Pyeongchang and just makes me smile) is a brilliant and innovative design detail.

Is it? He's Chinese doing Mao's Last Dancer.

Wow, surprised Team Japan did so well!

Ahhh, jinxed Boyang...

I'm sorry I cannot underSTAND how Shoma and Mikhail are medalling when Boyang and Vincent (rightfully, sadly) plummeted for their disastrous skates?! :palmf: :palmf: :palmf:

90+ PCS for that is a crime lmao ... :sarcasm:

OTOH both Shoma and Kolyada medals with splats and splats. Stephen Hawking passed away and tore the fabric of the universe goddamn :drama:

Well, after the judges gave Shoma 88+ PCS with 3 falls, 90+ PCS is justified IMO.

Just got home and checked how the Men did. Holy **** it took Max to help keep the 3 spots? In truth Nathan did it almost on his own but man how badly did the other guys skate?

- The new Japanese skater (to me) Tomono impressed me very much in his first Worlds.
- Oh my, Bychenko succeeded really well, fourth place, WOW!!!
- Uno had falls, but showed his awesome fighting spirit
- Huh, what´s wrong with Jin, trying to jump so close to the boards! Is that some sign of uncertainty?
- So sorry for Zhou, but he should find himself ONE good coach! Way too many cooks in his soup now!!!
- After so many falls Chen came and showed how it should be done, LOL. Congratulations for the win!

This was a huge splatfest, but it´s no suprise after the long season. Maybe there should be no Worlds in the Olympic season?

Wow..was Boyang, Shoma and Vincent sick or something. Woke up to this mess. I figure Chen would win with 10 quads but this was like the ladies event. When was the last time a guy from USA and Rus were on the podium. Like the Olympics....I'm glad this season is over. How Shoma get on the podium.

What on earth happened?!

Wait, wait. I don't want to know. Nope.

*walks out*

Basically, after Shoma had skated, the young boys started to play "Let's give these medals to someone else." But when it was Nathan turn, he said,"Nope, I am not playing this game. I am playing the game that Yuzu plays which is to win medals." THE END.

Shoma Uno is just not a good competitor and is not skating good under pressure (unless Yuzuru is there an taking all the pressure from him). He had the chance to win the GPF in his hometown, but nope.... He had the chance to win worlds in such a weak field, but nope... I'm afraid Yuzuru won't be allowed to retire (one day) :shame:

I think Shoma is one of the fiercest competitors around. And despite terrible meltdowns by Boyang Jin and Vincent Zhou today, it would be a terrible mistake to write them off as well. These top men are not lily-livered people. The fact that these few names are being mentioned endlessly here shows that they are great competitors.

I don't think he had a chance to win Worlds today. And the silver medal was only possible when the planets aligned in such a way where all three of Boyang and Vincent and Kolyada (towards a lesser extent) had big meltdowns that has never been seen before in any of their careers.

Was Shoma's 4Lo fully rotated or UR and not called? I was watching a choppy stream on my laptop, and I couldn't really tell.

I'll watch some of this again when it's on TV later since my mother hasn't seen any of it yet. She's not one to wake up early to watch skating, like me, so she has no idea about the splatfest to come.:scard8: I'm debating about whether or not I should warn her ahead of time. Usually, she doesn't like being spoiled for sporting events. (I speak from experience here, my mother had left the room to not see results from Nagano, and I spoiled the results for Tara and Michelle before it aired.)

Tell your mom to play a drinking game, take out the vodka and say: Mom, drink every time someone falls. Mom can't keep up when Boyang skates.

hmm... Maybe go for the food? I don't know.. I don't gamble and I don't really like vegasy shows. I like museums and art galleries and castles. I'm better suited to Europe. And I want to walk on the great wall before I die. Cliche I know.

How about Celine Dion? She's from your country.

It feels like silver and bronze shouldn't have been awarded this year.

Kolyada messed up less than others but his LP is such a snooze fest.

Tomono was a star tonight, his future is bright. He should have come second in LP.

I hope ISU will think over the scoring strategy for next season. Messy programs rack up too many TES points. Not to mention they are not sufficiently punished in PCS

You mean like music competitions? Sometimes (actually often times) they don't award the gold even.

Is it? He's Chinese doing Mao's Last Dancer.

Yes, look it up and see for yourself.:) I haven’t watched the movie but I’ve not seen anything resembling that collar in the stills, and it certainly doesn’t look like the collar of traditional Chinese menswear.
