You Know You're a Figure Skating Fan When...

I also like this artist and am the proud owner of two of his originals which my lovely parents commissioned for me: one of Duhamel/Radford from 2018 and a newer one of Guignard/Fabbri, both of which adorn the walls of my home. I also have a smaller print of G/F at work, which always intrigues my colleagues (I live in a secret hope that one of them might decide to give watching ice dance a try!)

My goodness. I didn't know we had art enthusiasts on here! (Sorry, but I am afraid that I am not really into art. But, I do appreciate when something is good, and when somebody is talented).

I didn't name him in case it broke the advertising rules (it was a shopping site I was talking about, after all). But, knowing how big a fan you are of his wife, @ladyjane, I am happy to hear that you have bought some of his prints.

And wow, @GoneWithTheWind! What a great honour to not just own some original works, but to know that they were done especially for you.

I like the way you have one of your pictures with you at work. That must be a great conversation starter! With the way figure skating is such a marginal sport in our country, we need all the ways we can find to enlighten people!

I hope you enjoy owning these pieces of artwork.

You know you're a figure skating fan when you are in a Zoom Pilates class and you can't find your gymnastics ball anywhere, so instead you just grab the closest suitable thing nearby, and it's Peter the Pumpkin, the mascot of 2020 Euros.

OMG I didn't know 2020 Euros has a mascot! I can never forget those evil smirks of the veggies on their logo :ROFLMAO:
 
When you are watching Canadian Nationals on your PC or Ipad streaming while tuning into CBC TV coverage at the same time...

Also when you watch all the Sr. disciplines then re watch your favourite performances and then watch the Jr. disciplines....
 
There is this James-Radford commercial on TV, so my husband and I laughed that it is pretty much a documentary of what our house is going to be like during Olympics. My husband started recording it for me, and in the middle of that short clip, my mom called. Initially, my husband cursed under his breath—my mom’s timing had always been legendary—but immediately after we started laughing like mad, because that phone call just completed the chronicles. Now, it was exactly what out house would be like during the Olympics, complete with mom’s phone calls raging about one of her favs being underscored.

You stay up way past your bedtime to watch Kurt Browning and a couple of Coaches discuss the Evolution of Figure Skating Jump Technique on Youtube.
 
When you are in a panic because you can't find your little Japanese flag while cheering for Mai Mihara during her 4CC free skate! This happened a few nights ago. I found the flag a few hours after we watched the coverage. BTW, I bought that flag @ 2003 Worlds to cheer on Takeshi Honda, Fumie, Shizuka, etc.!
