The wait is over. There will be a medal ceremony! Lots of thoughts here, I'm sure.

Who were your favorites in this competition?

What we just watched was horrible.
A bunch of bullies broke a 15 years old and we watched it in real time.
Journalists, MOC & ISU (because yeah, presumption of innocence is not a thing, lets punish everybody), internet trolls.

Hope all the bullies burn in hell.

Shame. Shame. Shame.

Leaving aside Trusova's meltdown, the most surreal footage was to see the coaches and Russian officials completely abandoning the winner Sherbakova. The brilliant editing by the broadcast director- from all Russians team members consoling Valieva to coaches trying to calm down Trusova to Sherbakova quietly and shamefully standing alone in a corner looking confused- was something out of sitcom. I felt I was watching The Office at Olympics.

Is this always like that behind the scenes? Or did we just got lucky with the broadcaster this year??? I wonder.

Well, it seems like lots of people here and in other places want non-russian girl to medal. I guess they happy now. Big congrats to you guys. Be proud of yourself.
I personally just hope that this is last medal that non-russians can get. And assuming ISU will finally raise age which will completely kill women's FS in lots of countries, and knowing that we (Russia) have tons of girls of every age ready - that what going to happen.

It was pretty obvious that it was a competition with too many children involved. I'm very happy for Trusova. She can be proud of herself. She had her best skate at the most important moment. But she also behaved like my friend's 7 year old son when I beat him at FIFA 22.

That's an apt description of the footage. The adults were running like nursery staff trying to keep up with the kids.

very few saw that coming innit
to those saying "now look what u done to her" i say it's those who let her compete at fault completely don't blame anyone else
"irrepareble harm" right

but im far more interested to know what happen to trusova here
the russian says "now everyone got a gold but me" btw
i don't know what to make of it
anyone know what happen to her with eteri since sp?
she gambled she lost big girl can cry but it's really on nobody but herself
i just hope somebody can be by her side now and guide her to see the end of tunnel

Maybe if Trusova stopped staring down at the ice through her entire FS, paid more attention to the music and some choreography, she might have gotten higher PCS scores, which would have enabled her to beat Anna S. As long as she insists on being quad queen and nothing more, she will remain a runnerup at major events.

But that was SOME tantrum!! WOW!!

Despite all my anger with those who have ruined Kamilla's skating today, I still find some consolation in Anna's and Sasha's well-deserved one-two. Could've been one-two-three but alas.

I understand your pain but I wouldn't go as far as you did by writing about "last medal for non-Russians". Competition is always good, it just needs to be fair and non-manipulative. Which is another big theme to be discussed elsewhere.

Not surprised that Valieva self-destructed---the attention and pressure on her was too much for her to handle. I don't imagine she'll get much sympathy from ET and company because from their point of view, Kamila let them down. As if.

I hope Kamila can find better coaching. She deserves a chance at redemption. OTOH, maybe ET and crew will get what they deserve....

Congrats to Anna. She delivers again and again no matter what pressure. :bow:I don´t think she gets enough respect for that. So sad to see her alone and subdued in that moment.
Congrats Kaori, who had three absolute flawless performances at the Olympics. :bow:Her skates are those I want to watch again.

I was expecting this kind of reaction. The culpables are the media and the skating fans, not the people who gave Valieva a prohibited substance. No. I wonder how we can sleep at night. (Sarcasm)
SMH!!!

Oh, poor victim. Give me a break!
