I don't love All that Jazz for Kaori. I don't think playing a Chicago gangster doll is her best suit. I did love Alyssa and Madeleine's FP.

I don't think so. This was as expected. This was how I expected Alysa to perform in competition. It was clear at her last competition she just didn't have the stamina. Which is normal after two years, in fact she is doing very well. Compare this to Yelim who only took a year off. Elyce just had one very good competition and then has returned to norm. She has incredible potential but needs better material. It's a nerves issue. We will see if she overcomes it.

Right, in Budapest, Alysa had a tech score of 59.19, and here it was 59.34, the big difference was PCS. She got 60 here and 64 in Budapest.

I'm surprised many people not liking Kaori's FS - am I the only one who love it?

I think the music actually suits her and she's having fun with it. To me she's still adjusting & getting used to her new jumps layout and that's why it feels like she's catching the beat. But once she nails it, I think it's gonna be amazing

I like it. I never like what Benoit does for Kaori because he doesn't give her any challenging choreo and the programs just rely on her SS. (her SS are clearly wonderful) This challenges her. But, Kaori isn't actually great at upper body movement or performance so people always criticize programs that are a stretch for her. I'm glad she is pushing herself.

This is still very early in the season, so I'll give Kaori the benefit of the doubt but this is extra messy by her standard. Last time she did something new technically, she lost her consistency. I trust her and her team that they will go back to her reliable jump layout if this new one doesn't work out

Some hard falls for Kaori. I'll always love her and her speed but I do not like this program at all--it takes away from what makes her special.

i always love watching Kaori skate, but I preferred Mariah Bell's take on Fosse.

To be honest Kaori and Hana didn't look with energy since the sp, don't know why, but the sp has less jumping passes so that's why I think they did better

If this had happen in any other country with National entries Maddie would have medaled - so much for all those who always said the CAN skaters were over marked at home events. !

I went back to watch Rino's skate: I've been praying for a couple years that she would step out of the shadows. What a moment!! Those jumps are so gorgeous. And her skating skills are also ridiculous. The edges and turns were to die for.

I was really looking forward to Kaori's version of All That Jazz since I love this song and I am a bit disappointed now. Maybe it will look better once Kaori performs it with more energy, she looked less energetic than usual and was dead on her feet after the skate. And of course the falls on the jumps didn't help.

I am really happy that Rino got the silver, her free was head and shoulders above everyone else's today.

Alysa please ditch MacArthur Park. It is so generic. Unless it really is all about the fun then keep it. Maddie S I don't know what has gotten into you this season but it is doing you a world of good on so many levels. Kaori you seem not so comfy with Chicago. I hope you work your way into it. Rino that FS was inspirational and is a primer for not giving up on yourself.

I do. It was Benoit's Matrix program that got me to watch her skating to begin with.
