I thought you were talking about Piper and Paul!Actually Lajoie/Lagha were 5th last year behind Lilah and Lewis. So they do need to pass Fear/Gibson, and hopefully one of the podium teams.

Maybe ran out of fabric? "Not enough of that red stuff left? Um, let's see. We could give his suit short pants? Or make it a sleeveless jacket-and-shirt-with-tie? Oh, let's just forget sewing a back to it. Backless costumes are everywhere. So it's usually just the women's dresses -- who'll notice?"Maybe his real costume isn’t ready?![]()

AbsolutelyMarjorie and Zac have great potential to be the new dance leaders post-milano
I enjoy your company as wellYes, me too - watching the skating with everyone here is so much fun - you're all great company!
Kaitlyn WeaverDoes anyone know the woman who's commentating on the CBC stream with Ted?
Sorry I wasn't clear!I thought you were talking about Piper and Paul!![]()
I was wondering if the back hole was to show the "Whiter Shade of Pale", but I don't think Paul is quite pale enough.Maybe his real costume isn’t ready?![]()

Agree about Piper and Paul but disagree about US teams in terms of the Browns. They are unique and have a lot of potential. So, I watched the entire event and I shall speak.
The two young US couples are just faceless. And that's bad. There is nothing after Chock/Bates, so they should set their marks already now, but they are all skating some unwatchable stuff.
Zingas and Kolesnik - Spielband cosplaying Papadakis and Cizeron. Nothing new.
Every year I clap IAM for finding new programs for Evgenia. She was a wooden doll last year, now she's a robot. Everything to hide her complete lack of dancing skills. She's great from a technical point of view, but quite frankly, she should be skating with Malinin - the level of selling choreography is the same for both.
Tashlers always look cheap and mainstream, and this makes my heart bleed. They have great skills, they could have blossomed into World Champions, if only they had good programs. I said it before and I will say it again - they should go to IAM.
LL - I love the team, and I hate all their dances because they are always the same. Fun in RD, drama in FD. I am sure they can do better and deeper than that.
Piper and Paul - they again reinvented themselves. Starting a tango with baroc music is a bold move, I give them standing ovation for that. They have been in the circuit for many years and they have (almost) always brought unique dances. They deserve the gold medal this year. Of course, none will let them get the OGM (unless Chock and Bates fall three times), but they should become World Champions at least once.

Mostly agree. I liked the Browns FD and Bratti/Somerville's enthusiasm, but for me, I am not really sold on either couple as a possible top team. jmo and they may blow my assessment out of the water someday!

Piper and Paul are incredible! This year's programs, while not Vincent or Both Sides Now or or or so many of their programs from the past, are engaging and technically magnificent. Paul does need to burn that FD backless atrocity.Piper and Paul - they again reinvented themselves. Starting a tango with baroc music is a bold move, I give them standing ovation for that. Z/K - very pretty program, but not close to Caroline and Michael. Green and Parsons have extremely strong skating skills, perfect unison, and can skate contemporary better than any team in the field. They absolutely deserve to have a spot at Worlds this season and Olympics next season.I loved that program. So many things in that program I loved. They didn't get a great level, but I loved the diagonal step. All the lifts. The pacing, the choreography. This should be a winner this season for Zingas/Kolesnik. Just in terms of material, this should put them in the lead for that third spot to worlds in the U.S. (depending on what Green/Parsons are doing). This team just has "it".
Piper and Paul were very good but what the HELL was he wearing? I couldn't take my eyes off it for all the wrong reasons to the point where I couldn't tell you what she was wearing if you paid me.
I have wanted Caroline and Michael to be the US's next big team for years now, and I adore them, but they need to get back on an upward trajectory.Z/K - very pretty program, but not close to Caroline and Michael. BUT for me they seem to organically GET their dancing. Doesn't feel like cosplay to me -- to me, they are making the dances their own. I see real understanding of what they are doing. The RD was as showy and over-the-top as Saturday Night Fever, and the FD was nuanced and (for me) mesmerizing. Just my 2 cents.
Green/Parsons have looked mediocre at best for the last two seasons. Remember that a few seasons ago it looked like Green and Parsons had permanently passed Carreira/Ponomarenko, now I'd say it's advantage C/P. I'm willing to see what Green/Parsons can do this season, but Zingas/Kolesnik's star is on the rise and I don't think it will be cut and dried.Z/K - very pretty program, but not close to Caroline and Michael. I'm kind of a Brit and wouldn't pronounce it like that - Halifax is a place in Yorkshire and it should be pronounced Hali(short "i")-fax. Maybe Chris has been in the US too long?Another night in Hallie-fax from our announcer Brit
That's a lot of negativity. Sounds like you had a horrid time watching. So, I watched the entire event and I shall speak.
