She always had very weak first half of seasons so she couldn't make it.

You know, I've never thought of it like that before, but that could be a problem for skaters that take time to build up during the season.

Just thinking of it in an international context, in that respect, skaters who are like this that are in Juniors are at an advantage with the way that the Junior Grand Prix Series starts earlier than the Senior competitions, and Junior Worlds is later than Europeans. They have more time to build up than their Senior counterparts.

I have always said that there is an argument for holding the Majors later. It is not as if we are restricted by the use of outdoor rinks any more. With indoor rinks, there is nothing to stop us having the Majors in April or even May. And National Championships could be pushed back to later too.
