I've never seen Maria skate before, but I quite liked her style. It's a shame that she had so many jumping issues. She has good basics and solid spins, and I liked her wintery dress.

at nationals, a woman thought difficult spin exits were mistakes... i told her because she kept saying, oh noooooo she touched the ice with her knee... so i corrected her, gently and said, only telling you because you will see a lot of the skaters do this... it's not a mistake

Maria has beautiful soft arms and hands. Level 4 spins and a level 3 for her step sequence, a pity that the jumps didn't work out as she wanted. Ouch re the fall on the 3L, but she holds onto the landing of the 2A despite the wonky take-off with a step out. Love her turn on the toe pick in her step sequence.

Second season back in singles for Maria, I wonder if she is still looking for pair partner or if it's permanent now?

I don't know, but she hasn't been doing so badly in Singles. So, I think she should stick with it.

It's so hard to find the right partner. I'm sure she thought that everything was going to work out well when she got partnered up with Harley. But, it didn't.

That was fun - Great job, Gian-Quen! She's another skater whom I've never seen, but I really enjoyed her. She's got spunk and solid basics. It's great to see a skater having a great time on the ice!

Gian-Quen looks thrilled to be there. Love how much dancing and choreography there is before her first jumping pass. Nice 3S, and lots of determination to stay upright after the axel. She has so much verve and energy in her performance of this programme. I want her to hit her levels for her spins and step sequence so badly, but this is a great SP debut at 4CCs for her.

She is so sassy. And this is just the perfect music and programme for her.
