From the recent GS article about him:
Shunsuke Nakamura JPN
SP: "Yesterday" by The Beatles, performed by Babyface, Chloe Flower, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; choreo by Misha Ge
FS: The Last Samurai soundtrack by Hans Zimmer; choreo by Kana Muramoto
Uhh, two Yesterday SPs among the Japanese men this season
(because Sota is recycling his old program)Quite a number of warhorses, and a grateful shoutout to all skaters who have decided not to torment fans' ears with them. Kudos to Tatsuya, that's a pleasant surprise after the music choices of the previous seasons.
I expected the number or warhorses would increase because it's the Olympic season and few are bold enough to pick something original, sadly (and this is on the judges). But knowing why skaters do so doesn't make the actual listening any more enjoyable. Incidentally, I watched the Paris Air Show footage last week, and it's pretty sad that the planes' programs/routines/numbers/whatever it's called, were accompanied by less overplayed and better suited music than many skaters I see in this thread (though there was a Blue Danube offender also, lol)
Mai's choices give me retirement vibes... her friend Kaori is retiring next season, so it would make sense. Has Mai mentioned retirement?
) It is a Neapolitan tramway, after all.
