I'm waiting for the rhythm dances to start, I don't think there's much to talk about other than paying/not paying. They're on the last warm up group for Novice Women group 2.

I’m going to rely on this chat, for updates tmrw.
Specifically, the battle between Gabby and Kaiya. I like both of them. So, my heart will break for one of them. Also, Minsol (next year Canadian star
) for the win. Also, Junior Girls. Hoping Victoria skates clean. Also, Quinn and Ksenia rounding out the podium would be perfect for me.

Sorry. I am not able to give real time updates. I loved Charlie Anderson and Cayden Dawson’s performance. Such improvement!. Also huge fan of Summer and Nik. I hope both teams get some international respect.
Shilling/Baeten - I like their twizzles, she had a fall towards the end. 52.91
Pehl/Yu - Michael Jackson for their music. They missed last season, it felt like they were thinking through the twizzles. Looks like they're working with Mariposa. Edit - I misheard, they scored 38.80

Ritter/Brykalov - Depeche Mode, I'm appreciating the break from dance music. 58.99
Robinson/Portz - Red Hot Chili Peppers. Her hair got loose at the end, I think that fit the program. 63.08
Roberts/Bosquet - Cher and La Bouche, really nice twizzles at the beginning. Then they slow down Believe. 54.97

Hensen and Lickers were the standout tonight. I have had a soft spot for Hensen/Lickers for awhile now. I am not sure why they haven’t gotten a higher profile internationally. To me they should be 70+ for the rhythm dance and over 100 for the free dance internationally. But they seem stuck score-wise. Guess I am just a fan and not knowledgeable enough to understand.

This is how I feel every time I watch Ice Dance. "oh that was great they should be in lead". and then their like 15th. I love but don't understand how ice dance scoring works.

I thought Gabby's short program was VERY good. I think it was underscored tbh. SHe looked so incredibly strong and powerful and the music and choreo is so her. Im very excited to see this program grow. If she keeps this up I think this program has potential to beat her PB score.
I loved it too!! It had so much energy.
The “I’m Here” song resonates to Gabby and you can tell she skates to this song because she believes in the lyrics. I just hope she tones down the technical content somewhat in the free skate. When she goes for too many lutzes and flips, her programs tends to fall apart. I want just one flip and lutz and then repeat of toe and salchow. Also, she should do her combos as early as possible to make sure she doesn’t leave points off the table. I’m looking forward to this free skate.

I don't know... Gabby already always repeated the toe. I trust more her lutz than her salchow on a normal basis.... The flip often gets a call so sure. I'd say, do your signature 3t-3t, do a 3lz-2t-2loop, a 3lz, a 3flip, a 3loop, a 3salchow+ 2a and a 2a
I think that would be gabby's optimal layout.
Since there is no stream for me. I looked at protocols and forgot about some of the other events.
Pairs
The Japanese World Champion Pairs team - I forgot about them. I liked their short program. Also, Jazmine landed her 2A in Pairs!! Looking forward to the free skate portions
Men
My David S. is here in singles. I look forward to see how he fares against John Kim. John Kim is someone who can hit the minimum benchmark of 219. I really want this for John.
Junior Girls
Victoria - I’m hoping for a clean skate. She needs to get closer to 170 to become competitive for top 6 finishes in the JGP circuit. Also, Quinn is the only other Junior capable of attaining the 155 benchmark. It may be too late to get her to the JGP circuit, but, she can make a statement. Also, this is good practice for Ksenia.

Just glanced at the senior rhythm dance protocols. Of the 10 teams, 7 received a B for the partial step sequence! Some real work to be done. Lots of other low levels too. No domestic gifts here.
