2025-26 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 2 - Krasnoyarsk

Andrei came really close to medaling here had he played it safe and not gone for the backloaded 4T he likely would have got it but I guess theres no way of knowing how others ahead would skate so he went for max points and it didnt work out.

He has been competing with this layout for several years. This backloaded 4T is not even new.

But, still... who else can even land it consistently at all? I mean in Russia. Vlad? Mark isn't as consistent as Ugozhaev.
I think we talked not about consistency but quality.

But as for consistency, yes, Vlad. What's more, his Lutz is bigger and with the deep edge.

Matvey and Daniil have only 0,28 between them idk if that will end up mattering much for nats as both 7th and 8th are quite low and they likely need a medal in next stage for a chance to qual which is possible especially for Daniil if he can find better form before his 2nd assignment.

4-5th places must enough.

Yes, it's difficult to discuss quality when almost nobody can land it more than 50%.

Ugozhaev hasn't fallen once. I think he's 8/8 on the Lutz. From Panin to now. For me this is getting impressive. Dikidzhi only had one start. We will see how he does in stages.
