Medvedeva's dresses during the stages are all very theatrical (think she only wore something "normal" during the first stage?). They look more like costumes than dresses actually, maybe there are to bring her souvenirs from her time as a skater, dressing up

Progress. She's an introverted skater (which is just who she is) and she needs to shut out everything but the music and the ice. Extroverted skaters skate to the crowd Channel your inner Scherbakova and nail the program when you need to!

She is an extremely extraverted skater.

She has repeatedly mentioned that she likes the crowd to clap the whole way through and sing with her.

Based on almost every program she has ever skated she is a significant outlier in how extraverted she is. Like it's one of her most striking attributes.

She was never a power jumper, but now the jumps are barely clearing the ice and rotation is short on many of them. But who could have predicted that last year? Same with the men, now it seems to me they should have chosen Vlad, as his PCS has improved to Olympic levels.

Many people, actually. Those who some here would refer to as just jealous haters it was always obvious her ultra-c jumps wouldn't be sustainable.
But Vlad isn't any more likely to perform cleanly than Petr, so I don't see how switching them would have been better

I'm not stressed for Adeliia. I remember 2019 worlds happened (ah good times).
Or even Shcherbakova path to the oly gold. The beginning of the season was hard, to say the least.

She was a junior talent from Kazan who moved to TeamTut this season. It's her first senior season. She landed 3 3As in Kazan. Go watch her replays.

Well jumps weren't there for Evgeni, but performance wise I thought he had good presence and connected with the program

Out of synch I am, here with my applause for Shichina/Drozd who have my fav of 2 programs this year. I think actually in the whole bundle of dances. Also, building up appreciation for Mironova/Ustenko trailblazing their own path and being intriguing.

Okay, women are next for me, though I am gonna avoid all the drama of Petrosyan preparation.

Catching-up with results during the warm-up..... So happy to see that Pavel Drozd and his partner gold silver here! quite unexpected I would say, will have to catch the actual skates but these are amazing results for them, bronze plus silver, don't think they even expected it themselves. Really like Pavel's skating so I do hope they can keep their momentum into Nats and get into the National team

Dario / Liza, well things seemed to have gone better in the FS than in the SP according to scores.... saw the SP and felt really sad for Liza who keeps doing silly mistakes in several skates in a row (hopefully that was not the case in the FS ?), she is a better skater than that but clearly she is struggling enormously with confidence and nerves Felt sorry for Dario as well as this is not an easy situation to handle, but at least publicly, he has always seemed supportive of her. They ended up 5th here and I don't remember now what was their result in their first stage (4th?), that should still be enough hopefully for Nats and GPF.... just hope they can recover and come out stronger!
