Yay, I’m so glad Ilia played it smart with only 3 quads. He didn’t need his full arsenal; heck, he could have withdrawn and still be named to the team.

Ilia was scaling back so much that I thought he was gonna lose the free to Andrew for a second. That was his smartest Nationals layout, though. He’s done way too much unnecessary stuff at Nationals the past few years.

I am a HUGE Jason Brown fan. He seemed sick - red nose. Regardless, I think they have to send Ilia (duhh!) and then some combo of Torgashev, Naumov or Tomoki. I think Andrew and Max have the best overall record?

Jason was already on thin ice with how great Torg was and the sentimental bump Maxim should get. That disaster made part of this much clearer.

Right, and as rare as it is to see Jason skate like he did tonight; it’s similarly as rare or even more rare to see Andrew skate the way he did tonight.
