No, unfortunately. The rationale is, I think, that team 21 had still 20 teams above them, so they have no business competing in the finale. I don't agree, but that's it. Other sports, such as swimming, call the next athlete in line if someone withdraws.
The audience would certainly like to see a full roster.
The ISU and their archaic rules...

the first one being how spots are earned by teams who may not even compete the following year... and how nations can earn 3 spots though they cannot field them... but a team just below them, with depth, cannot use those spots.

I want two spots for every nation who can field them. Sure, some people may sue me because I would nix the three spots... but I prefer seeing two spots from every nation than 3 spots from some while others have absolutely no access to acquiring that 2nd spot.

The CZE and the Finns shouldn't have to worry about qualifying two spots every year : they have two good ice dance teams who deserve to compete at worlds.

Here, because of an injury, one team is going to be left out for home worlds. That's stupid. An injury, meaning a w/d for one event shouldn't mean that you are screwed for an entire year.

and with the juniors coming up from the USA... they have like three teams in recent years with success at JWC (Browns, Neset/Markelov and Aboian Veselukhin) I feel that there will be some rough ruffling in the pecking order of US national dance teams... I cannot imagine some of these teams having to wait for their turn too long.. When that happens, some mid-range teams just vanish...

So be prepared... if you are not Emilea and Vadym, nothing is guaranteed for the next quad. Even CPom could be ditched...
Harsh reality but true - just hope each gets a turn in the sun once

T/V update: Juulia told in interview that Matthias' back pain today was so bad he could barely walk around, and he couldn't do morning practice. Some attempts were made to relieve the pain, but there was not enough time :(
Both Finnish team have been so unlucky with injuries, bureaucracy, fluke falls. I feel for them.
And no last chance to see that wonderful tango.

If it’s really true that the changes in ice dance are going to promote that the discipline returns to more of its foundational roots in terms of compulsories and emphasize actual dancing and skating skills, then there is likely to be upheaval in the entire world of ice dance. The changes don’t bode well for teams like Fear/Gibson, for example.

I was saying that yesterday - next years buzz word will be tracking...

Sounds like: Please get ready for the "icy" world championships

What about the top 3 US dancers, particularly Caroline and Michael?

This was meant to be banner year for Finnish ice dance, with three teams in ECh, two of them close to Europe's top, possibly two teams in Olympics...and then it was just misfortune after misfortune, and now there is no team in WCh free dance and Finland lost the second spot 😭

Travel back and forth across the US/CAN border can be very time consuming. Actually where I am from, there are two different borders one from Detroit and another from the thumb area.
