meh.. we have good and bad days... I tried to play it safe because I was in the lead for the combined and well... it backfired. At the Olympics, I played smart and won 6 medals
and sometimes, I think I have played smart and it's a mess... I think that's part of the fun. If one is always winning at these, it becomes boring ? Why watch ?

I was a big fan of Klimova & Ponomarenko. Anthony's skating doesn't look like he's even related to them...especially to his dad.I hear you, but Anthony comes by all that drama honestly. If you've never seen them, you should check out his parents' old performances on YouTube.

I just loved Christina and Isabeau and their fun Christabeau social media posts from the Olympics, and I just find Christina delightful in her public persona, so I actually kind of hate that I don't like C/P's skating more -- but since I uber adore Emi and Vadym, at least I don't have conflicts on who to root for!!

British Ice Skating is “formally challenging” the results of the World Figure Skating Championships ice dance final as Scottish skater Lewis Gibson and partner Lilah Fear missed out on a second World medal by less than a fifth of a point - after having two points deducted for an “illegal element”.
The skating federation said it would raise its concerns over the “incorrect” penalty with the International Skating Union (ISU) and also said it would call for a “full and independent review of the officiating process”.
Other skaters raised concerns over the judging process in the ice dance event earlier this season.

Then Anthony was doing his job. He was portraying a psychotic murderer in that FD, so creeping people out was success.
Also, Christina has had extensive work in the past with Hubbell on the ice to improve her skating and persona on the ice, so again a success.

I watched C/P again and still couldn't see whatever fell from Christina's dress. However, my TV isn't that big; the piece might be visible on a larger screen with higher resolution.
That said, many skating costumes are covered with sequins and bling. I can understand that these things could create a real hazard but deductions can be a big deal, right?
So how on earth do designers make sure that nothing falls off? It seems almost impossible.

When my grandmother was sewing my skating dresses until she died when I was in my late teens, she'd rely on the fabric providing the ornamentation. A brocade-like texture, or a solid colour dress with striped sleeves and underskirt. Nothing to fall off.

I think I was counting Christina a success with what I said. I've always liked her, since she was a 15-year-old blogger in hers & Anthony's junior comp in a foreign country, Italy if I remember correctly.

Whom are you talking about? Fournier-Beaudry/Cizeron? A year ago is just about right, but probably a few months longer now, if I remember correctly.
