2015-2016 Programs by Discipline

Heh, I wouldn't call most of the choreography we saw in the POTO programs last year "different and new". That's really the problem. Hanyu's choreography was nearly identical to his program the year before, just the order of a few elements was swapped.

That's true. The jump layout was so similar!

I did really like how Hanyu had 3Axel+half loop+3Sal in POTO, it went well with the music and it's so difficult to do that late in a program, but otherwise blah. A similar jump layout can be fine, even necessary really, the bigger problem is that the spins were the same and the FOOTWORK was the same. For an easy comparison, look at the "choreographic footwork sequence" in each program - it's literally identical except for one different arm movement between the two at the end. Apparently doing a showy ina bauer, into turning threes, into twizzles in the sit position is the essence of both Romeo+Juliet and Phantom of the Opera. Yeah, right.

Romeo and Juliet :)

If it makes you feel better I had no idea what Poto was at the start of last season:laugh:

And it took me about a month to figure out who all the abbreviations of pair/dance teams were...there are three S/K teams (Scimeca/Knierim, Stolbova/Klimov, Sinistina/Katsalopov) and a K/S (Kavaguti/Smirnov), to give you an idea of how it can get confusing, and because I'm such a new fan, a lot of the references to 80's or 90's teams using only their initials left me hopelessly confused (and still do)! And over at FSUniverse, they have a whole lingo system it took me several weeks and a thread asking for help to sort out. Don't worry, you're not alone in your confusion!

I guess I´m a lucky person as I have no such restrictions to hamper my enjoyment of skating regarding the music skaters are using . I prefer to take each performance as a unique one, as the choreography to any popular music is always different and new to me.

Of course I meant in the posting above different and new compared to what other skaters have been performing to the same music.
