Sigh. More Chopin. I didn't realize how much of this there was, but I believe we sat through at least seven programs just at Skate Canada. And that is quite a lot for a single GP event. Even when the music is responsible for one of my favorite Mao Asada programs. There really is a LOT of piano music this season, especially within the men's event. I can't believe it. At my first Worlds in 2001, there was one--one--guy who skated to piano music during the short program. And it really stood out beautifully against all the pounding soundtracks/music the guys were using.

You know, I would be complaining too until I realized that I would rather listen to hundreds of Chopins than some of the trash that is played on the radio today. :no:

So please do not assume that I generalize. I merely stated that I would rather listen to Chopin than some of the music on the radio. I did not say all, and there are some I do quite like that are making it into some skaters' programs today.

Adam Rippon Online updated the LP music information. In the Beatles medley, "Yesterday" is replaced by "Blackbird". It also states that

Elizaveta Tuktmaysheva has gone back to last season's Bolero for her SP for the remainder of the season, hopefully to help her do well at Nationals and earn a spot to defend her European and World Titles.

Although I'm not a big fan of trotting out the warhorses, I have always wanted someone to skate to David Garrett's "Carmen Fantasie." It is beautiful, and it is different enough that I think it could inspire a great program. Was able to watch it, thanks to a poster in the Golden Spin thread! Always so appreciative of those who post video links! I see that Barbara Fusar-Poli is their coach.

Does anyone know if anyone else is skating or has skated to this?
