So If the ranking stays the same it will mean that the top 3 will all qualify for the JGF right?

Sofia SHEVCHENKO / Igor EREMENKO would have 1st and 3rd
Marjorie LAJOIE / Zachary LAGHA 1st and 2nd
Ksenia KONKINA / Grigory YAKUSHEV 2nd and 2nd

I know Ted said in the SD that Eliana GROPMAN / Ian SOMERVILLE remind him of a young Virtue & Moir but they actually remind me a young Davis & White. Precise technically but need to work on their connection.
Their main problem right now IMO is that they look very young (younger than 17 & 16).
Good skate & good score 127.54

Sofia SHEVCHENKO / Igor EREMENKO probably have the best FD in the junior field this year IMO.
It's a breath of fresh air not to have another lyrical/romantic FD.
85.08 good score but beatable.
Russian Nationals is going to be dramatic :drama:

Marjorie LAJOIE / Zachary LAGHA another romantic FD, but they did skate very well!
87.41 a little too much IMO but victory well deserved.

Ksenia KONKINA / Grigory YAKUSHEV I like the program but she needs to improve her edges.

83.61 3rd in the FD and 3rd overall so I guess no GPF for them...

K/Y were robbed IMO.

Still have some chances for GPF but they are quite slim.
S/S seems to be missing their 2nd JGP due to his injury, it comes now to the performances of K/N and U/N...

I agree they have the best FD program right now. The music choice/cuts is just brilliant. She looks like Selena Gomez

Its a shame that S/S are missing JGP. They have a fantastic program. Anthony is lucky. There is really no competition. They will lose their first place at final only if they make a really bad mistake which I hope not going to happen.

Eek, what happened to the French team of LaGouge/Rahier? They had a bronze in their first event, and a slight chance to get another medal/maybe qualify for the JGPF or an alternate spot.

Yeah, they're tiny enough that I still have trouble remembering they're teenagers and I've been following WISA teams for a while.

So for the GPF we have :

Qualified:
Christina CARREIRA / Anthony PONOMARENKO 30
Sofia SHEVCHENKO / Igor EREMENKO 28
Marjorie LAJOIE / Zachary LAGHA 28

Likely (but have not skated their 2nd JGP yet):
Sofia POLISHCHUK / Alexander VAKHNOV 30 or 28 at worst
Anastasia SKOPTCOVA / Kirill ALESHIN 28 or 26 at worst

In the mix for the last spot:
Ksenia KONKINA / Grigory YAKUSHEV 24
Arina USHAKOVA / Maxim NEKRASOV likely 24 (or 26 at best if they beat Sofia POLISHCHUK / Alexander VAKHNOV)
Elizaveta KHUDAIBERDIEVA / Nikita NAZAROV likely 24 (or 26 at best if they beat Anastasia SKOPTCOVA / Kirill ALESHIN)

Outside shot:
Caroline GREEN / Gordon GREEN likely 22 (or 24 if they beat Elizaveta KHUDAIBERDIEVA / Nikita NAZAROV)

Right now Ksenia KONKINA / Grigory YAKUSHEV are ahead on the tiebreak which is the total score but it could change of course, depending on the scoring of the last 2 JGP.

Then there's also the fact that crazy things happen on the JGP and even some of the "incredibly likely to place well" teams can have a weird day. Like Dima Aliev last year barely made it in after winning his first JGP because of 1 bad skate.

(My nickname for JGP/GP season is "Predictions? What Predictions?")

So I looked on their Facebook page and Natacha injuried herself in practice (there's a picture of them and she has a plaster).

This happened to them: https://www.facebook.com/natachaetc...2708520502147/352249631881368/?type=3&theater

She skated the SD with an injured hand.

Fair point, but in Ice dance there not as many surprises IMO.

I think K-Y will fight for the #6 spot for the final with the team that was third in Minsk
C-P (1-1) Q
S-E (1-2) Q
L-L (1-2) Q
P-V (1-? ) Q because of 1 first place - even with 3rd in Italy they will be ok
Anastasia and Kirill (2-?) Should be ok with either a 2 placement in Poland

#6 spot open for Russian team who got 2-3
