He'll need them and his 4T and 4F. I'm guessing he gets the SA slot. He should have enough for two already though.
Yeah, he'll easily be in the top 24 (I think someone said #11) with that score.

Isn't it that every Junior World champion is guaranteed for two GP spots if I wasn't mistaken?
But if they got into top world standing or season's best high enough they could get 2. Samohin got 2, Shoma got 2. Even Boyang got 2. He was not 1st.If I am not wrong, just 1? Not 2?But if they got into top world standing or season's best high enough they could get 2. Samohin got 2, Shoma got 2. Even Boyang got 2. He was not 1st.
I thought Boyang's assignment to Cup of China beside NHK was a host pick, but I could be wrong.
Glad to see no one melted down in the free. Congrats to the medalists!

Yeah, but Vincent could get SA host pick too, no? He's been skating both junior for a while and senior too, so I assume he would have had enough points to be on the world standing high enough? If not, that 259 score should definitely be on the top 24 of season's best. He should get 2 at the very least?
What I originally meant is I wonder whether every JWC would get two senior GP spots automatically regardless of being or not within top 24 in Worlds' standing. I see your point, but I don't think Zhou will be assigned to SA anyway as Nathan Chen, the reigning National champion will probably be there. Vincent is the current US silver medalist, so I can't hardly imagine USFSA would let him with only one GP spot if his total score today weren't sufficient for top 24 or even if JWC were only guaranteed for one GP spot. He has a nice start as senior next season anyway.![]()

But iirc by rights they should only get 1. I don't remember well though, don't take my word for it
With Petrov - I honestly don't understand the scoring. His SP was superior in terms of both cleaness and interpretation; still they put him only on the fourth place. In LP he showed a clean quad and the rest of elements, still his PCS are for some reason much lower than Aliev, although Petrov has better SS.

ITA. And I was in awe of the way he looked absolutely unfazed after that mistake. I also found Brian's reaction to his score interesting: pitied that he missed the podium, but he quickly shrugged off as someone who's so been there. Jun can only soar higher.
But why couldn't both Nathan and Vincent be at SA.
Nathan would be in SA because expectedly he will be top 6 at worlds. Vincent is there as host pick.

Because assigning them to SA together could increase more chance to their non-compatriot rivals and decrease their chance to advance to GPF together. The rivalries between Nathan and Vincent can garner more locals though, but next season is an Olympic season, so every move should be carefully done. Nathan will be in SA because he is first of all, a National US Champion.
