2018 JGP Linz Rhythm Dance

Marjorie LAJOIE / Zachary LAGHA
Country: Canada
Music: Tango: "Perro Viejo" performed by Otros Aires; Tango: "Otro Puente Alsina" performed by Otros Aires; Tango: "Essa" performed by Otros Aires
Choreography by: R. Haguenauer, G. Cournoyer, M.F. Dubreuil
Costumes: Black dres with flowered appliques for her; black pants and vest with purple/blue shirt for him

Required Elements:
Twizzles - NICE. Love the speed.
AT Pattern - Started a bit distant but improved greatly as it developed. She needs to watch her free leg--she doesn't always extend it fully (Meryl had the same problem--just having a nostalgia moment there)
NT St Seq (midline) --nice speed
Rotational Lift - timing issue?

Nicely done. It needs polish. But early days so I want to see this again in a month. LOL!

Score: 63.95 (34.38 TES, 29.57 PCS)

Really close..I guess everything will be decided in the free dance  ( and I hope we'll have a better stream then..)

I like L/L’s program more, but S/E’s execution was better today. L/L seemed slightly behind the music by the end.

The PCS are so close between them. Same score for SS and IN, S/E slightly ahead in TR and PE, L/L slightly ahead in CO.

Friend and Badaoui's opening and ending poses were very nice, and some of their edges were fantastic. Another super-gorgeous dress, too.

Matilda FRIEND / William BADAQUI
Country: Australia
Music: Tango: "Scent of a woman" by Thomas Newman; Tango: "Otra Luna" by Narcotango; Tango: "Scent of a woman" by Thomas Newman
Choreography by: Nikolai Morozov
Costumes:She in black dress with red highlights and quite a bit of fringe. Not my cuppa--she looks like she's wearing something torn off a couch. He's in a white shirt with black pants and vest.

Required Elements:

NT ST Seq (best guess with the screwy stream!)
AT Pattern - needs EXTENSION. Really nice exit out
St Line Lift - a bit slow and weak
Twizzles - great entry into it, but they were a bit slow

I sound very critical but I think they do have something. Morozov did not dumb down their choreography. If they stick together and work, I think they could really improve.

Score: 45.05 (24.62 TES, 20.43 PCS)

Just catching up, and both S/E and L/L were great! We'll have to see the FD to see who wins.

As I noted earlier, scoring is different across events, but I admit that I was expecting both S/E and L/L to place decisively ahead of K/N’s Bratislava score.

Excited to watch live for the first time this season! :)

Really loved Shevchenko/Eremenko the most personally, but Lajoie/Lagha were great too!

If I email Ted can I tell him that I love his commentary but the stream is THE WORST and can he please fix it?

Just a thought...

Hey Mrs P! So good to see you!

Stream is really refusing to work, it keeps freezing and glitching.
