Group hug I think is in order. May the free programs go better for all three men competing.
I watched Andrei - it wasn't a disaster skate, but it wasn't great either. What is going on with him? He had ankle surgery in March after skating at Mishin's birthday show, but he said himself the injury wasn't serious. Apparently he skated the whole 2020 season on the injured ankle. I just hope they gave him sufficient time to heal, even if it's the Olympic season. Andrei will be good to go to the 2026 Olympics in case he doesn't manage to make the team this time round.
Or maybe it's just growing pains? He is 18, but he still looks so baby faced...
Anyway, I am sure he will give his best in the FS! At least he got a decent SP score even with the mistake on the quad sal. I just looked at the Budapest Trophy SP results and didn't see a single score above 80. Now I'm afraid to watch...

Flip is a toe jump, Salchow is edge. I am wondering if this is making a difference, if the height of the jumps is what he is primarily struggling with. He had more success with flip, and T is generally there for him? But it seems that gaining the stable second quad so far is not happening for him?

I dunno, I wish I understood more, but I don’t, so I am just going to keep on hoping that things will come together for him, because, well, he is 18, and 2022 Olympics is not the end of the line.

Yeah, that was the best moment today.
Mozalev didn’t seem upset either, maybe they picked a quiet competition to evaluate the going forward strategy?

That would make sense. And it was just a popped quad in the SP, these things happen. Although the pop looked weird, he opened up mid-air and almost landed forward, as though he had lost orientation during the rotation. His legs also seemed reasonably tight in the air, maybe he really felt that he didn't have enough height for the quad?

What does Samsonov’s condition have to do with Rukhin’s comeback? I think Samsonov will continue struggling with OS until he’s done growing, and hopefully then he can rise back, just like Mark K. did.

As in junior man eligible for JWC selection representing TT. =Samsonov’s second GP spot and would it also held till too late.

Highly doubt Egors return has anything to do with Daniil. Considering the type of disorder OS is take it from someone whose had it you wont know when you will actually see him next, he could compete in NHK or for that week the pain could be too much. Somedays the pain is fine and somedays you cant go up a flight of stairs cause of the pain it causes and when its aggravated you should not do any athletic activities and just rest for weeks until its little less inflamed. Its an awful disorder thankfully I stopped growing at 14 years old and only had to deal with it for 2 years.
I wonder if something went down at cska mid season changes like this normally stem from something happening at the original group

Rukhin is a lovely skater, all the best to him with his new (old) team! Though coaching ressources are currently stretched thin at Team Tut (there were novices seen coachless at local comps) it should be no problem for the JGP final, since the Team Tut girls and seniors will go there as well. And by the end of the season I imagine the coaching staff situation should be resolved.

Congrats to Andrei M. for his 
win in Minsk, and to Dima and Sasha for taking home silver and bronze, respectively. So the Russian men won medals of all the colours today. Basically a podium sweep! 
Andrei M. seems to be on a tentative upwards trend. He is still very focussed on the tech, but once he feels comfortable with the jumps again, I'm sure he will deliver amazing performances. I'm particularly fond of his FS. The costume is gorgeous, did you notice the little dagger it has on the hip? And the thinker pose at the end!
Sasha and Dima skate in the longstanding tradition of the cacti Russian men. At the moment, they are leaving the Olympic door open. So to all the other hopeful Russian lads, get yourselves on a plane and go get these Olympic minimums (Erokhov, I'm looking at you)!
