Is there some other info to confirm a coaching change, apart from his appearance at the show? Just asking, as there are often guest skaters performing at Plushenko's shows (though granted, most such guests are not competing anymore).

I'm not sure that Eteri could have let her skater to perform here. Ira Sharova said that he had had a short performance so it's strange to invite skater just for that.

I don't know if it is a reliable source. Certainly, I wish him the best. His results haven't been great this season, but he definitely has potential. Hopefully, things go better next year and he is happy in his coaching environment.

I don't know if it is a reliable source. Certainly, I wish him the best. His results haven't been great this season, but he definitely has potential. Hopefully, things go better next year and he is happy in his coaching environment.

He can still compete in Junior Nationals, because he qualified for JGPF. Or at least I assume so and guessing we'll see him this month.

Didn't RusFed update the composition of the National Team after Nationals in previous (non-Covid) seasons, or is that just a figment of my imagination? If so, would we expect any changes? Maybe Ignatov in reserve and Gumennik into the main team instead? How about Danielian?

The official site has the latest change to the National Team posted in November 2021, including a coach. Prior to that, it is July change where Gumennik and Kutovoy are first excluded, then reincluded into reserve in the same document. Not sure why, probably some paperwork thing.

Logically, I would expect Aliev and Danielian to be excluded. But Ignatov had great showing in GP, so I dunno if one bad skate is reasons enough… the Eu team is 6 men, and I hope they will all make the next National team comp.

They always update the National Team in May or June, not after Nats. The RCF can affect the team, someone can retire, etc.

And another question: Will Dikidzhi actually be allowed to compete at Junior Nats? He didn't skate JGP and competed in the Senior Russian Cup series. Afaik, it was only a special rule last season that skaters qualified for Senior Nats also qualified for Junior Nats due to the lack of JGP.
It would be a shame really, Dikidzhi could fight for the podium and a trip to Junior Worlds. I hope they give him a wild card.

This rule still works

*Juniors may be admitted to the Russian Junior Championships 2022 without additional selection if they qualify for the Russian Championships 2022 through the Cup of Russia

Moreover, he's on the main roster of the junior national team. I'm sure, he'll be allowed.

I didn’t even question Dikidzhi’s participation, because for me, Russian junior world team is Lutfullin, Dikidzhi and Yablokov. But, it’s men… so we’ll see.

But on a serious note, swift recovery to Kolyada, he deserves that Olympic spot as much as anyone else!

No, I had a balloon popping ceremony after Russian Nationals, that lightly traumatized the cat and got me a lecture from my teenager about the better, silent technique for deflating balloons. But I kept all three of Mozalev’s balloons on an odd chance it might make an impact.

I think we will be doing balloons again if mom manages to come for Olympics Team Event.

Now, mom expressed concerns about the weather in St. Petersburg, so we might send a letter with well-meaning suggestions to bubble-wrap, wear a hat, and overall avoid breathing unless absolutely necessary. Maybe knit a scarf.

I am also having the flashbacks to 2020, when I should have went to Tallinn, but picked Montreal instead.

Anyway, yes, I am hoping Kolyada is just doing abundance of caution & I am happy Mozalev got his length of rope. What he does with it… we’ll see.
