^^ There is still U.S. pairs happenings to discuss though, even beyond summer events. I think this thread isn't frequented as much generally, because it's more necessary to remember to search for it off the main page in Edge. It's certainly a good idea to have a dedicated section for specific countries' national news. In part though, I think it's about people remembering to look for this relatively new section. Also, there are new pairings who haven't been seen much, and sadly better known veteran teams who are no longer competing.
What's going on truthfully with Danny O'Shea? Is he working in Colorado moreso as a pairs coaching assistant? Or, has he found a new partner? Is Jessica Calalang still interested in competing? Or, has she decided to stop looking for a new partner?
Have Knierim/ Frazier's new season program selections been revealed yet? K/F should certainly win both of their GPs, which is an extremely unusual expectation. What about the eventual GPF showdown between K/F, Miura/Kihara, and Peng/Jin? Some fans appear to be mourning that Russian teams won't be competing. Others are bemoaning the Canadian pairs retirements, and that discipline's continuing challenges due to a recent split, and a prospective new partnership not launching as anticipated.

@moonvine, I don't readily pick up on what NQS stands for? "New qualifying ..." ?
Yes, this is a transitional phase for pairs generally, and for U.S. pairs in particular, as a result of retirements and splits. But there's still interesting transitional phase happenings to discuss. Has anyone attended any of the summer pairs events that have occurred to date?
