Best wishes to everyone for the free. I respect everyone out there. I am not getting out there in MY tutu...thats for sure... What DO they put in the water in Asia? Will it fix old man problems????
Interesting that the commercials on YT get less and less frequent as the comp goes on,,,and then disappear. Wonder if I pay to make them disappear if that still works on a VPN?

If you thought yesterday's Ladies segment was long at 6h 45m, wait until you see the length of today's:

7h 30m!!! :dbana:

If I had realised that the Ondrej Nepela Memorial would require signing in, I would probably have watched the SP yesterday so that I could watch the FS today. But, since I didn't, I will watch Formula 1 Free Practice 2 (which I had planned to tape) and just dip in for the same skaters that I dipped in for yesterday.

Livestream for the Ladies FS is now on air.

Here is the link for the livestream:

Good luck to judges. No amount of coffee can make me go through that.

Missed the first two skaters, but Mark says both of them were smiling in the Kiss & Cry, so that's good. Hannah Dabees' free had some jump problems to start with, but she pushed through and got some nice spins in towards the end. Even with the mistakes, she looked happy when she finished skating, and had a little laugh when she saw her score. A great sport, who clearly enjoyed her competition!

Celia had a good skate in the free, nice opening 2A, a good 3T, got a little fatigued towards the end, but still had good spins. Lovely posture and very elegant in her bodysuit.

Pretty dress for Nevia, and how lovely she looked in her opening pose, all long lines and poise. She had a very interesting jump combination, 2Lz-Eu-2F, which had the highest GOE score of all her elements in the tech box.

Mulan for Marina, a level 4 on her Ch Combo Spin, and her lutzes were her best jumps, both rippon as well. Some nice musicality in the choreography as well, though by the end she fell behind. Still committed to finishing her final spin, with a jump exit for difficulty.

And it's back-to-back Mulans, with Flora Marie skating to Loyal, Brave and True. A neat spinner - two level 4s and a level 3 - and another Eu-2F combination jump. Her combination jumps actually seemed to be better than her single jumps, with a lutz-toeloop-loop combination as well.

Disney live action remake soundtracks continue with Savika, this time Speechless from Aladdin. Gorgeous details on the upper part of her costume. She started really well, lovely jumps and a really nice spin in the first half, but I think her recent bout of Covid took its toll as the programme went on. She remains a lovely skater, with components much stronger than her technical score.

Ah, I had forgotten Sophia was skating to "Voila". I loved that song when it was in Eurovision.

Fall on the opening Triple Salchow, and a few dodgy landings in the subsequent elements.

And a very weird fall in the second half. It wasn't even on an element. She just lost her balance and fell backwards.

Then another fall, but this time when attempting to land a jump.

Three falls. Maybe I shouldn't have come back, because it seems to have jinxed her.

Hello Kevin! Nice to see you again!

What do you reckon - were the Ice Dancers from Switzerland partially paying tribute to you with their costumes? ;)

Into 7th out of 9. At least it wasn't last.

It'll go better next time! ;)

Sophia had a disappointing skate, with that awkward and unexpected backwards fall, but she had a really lovely spin towards the end. If she had more access to ice, she'd be fantastic - she's got the skill, just not the practice time and experience.

Not the skate Olesja wanted either, after her opening 3S-Eu-3S. Gutsy of her to keep going for the triples even though they weren't working out, though her disappointment after the 3Lz was evident. I liked her dress - interesting design.

Oh, jeez, that was a very awkward fall at the end. The choreography was quite nice, especially in the beginning. Nice jumping technique but didn't quite work out today.

This was a difficult skate, but she has a lot of potential. Expressive, fast and with good flow and jumping technique

Beautiful spins from Sophia Natalie, demonstrating her flexibility. She chased the music in her layback, to make sure she finished with the music, and I think didn't hold the positions quite as long as she needed to for her level 4. A lovely simple dress; the blue suits her well.

A Romeo and Juliet mix for Laura, Prokofiev to Zefirelli to Armstrong's O Verona, but after the opening I'm not sure what happened. There was very little performance and choreography between the jumps, and she had a nasty fall - I hope she didn't hurt herself in the fall.

Katinka delivered the drama in her performance - expressive use of her arms and upper body throughout, and a definite sense of musicality, as she timed her movements really nicely to the music, particularly in the last minute. The two final spins matched the music as well, I think. Lots of energy throughout, really fun to watch.

This was a great skate. She has a lot of power on her jumps and a lot of determination to hang on to her landings. Her spins are comparatively weak, but nothing a bit more time and work invested into her spins won't fix. ❤️

A lovely skate from Miranda! She skated with all the bombast and confidence needed when the music was big, great jumps as well, so much height. She rushed her final spin, which meant she lost levels and finished ahead of the music, but she's very athletic and her jumps are definitely her strong suit. Well-deserved lead for her, I think.

Julija is another solid young skater - jumps a bit messy at times, but she was pretty quick across the ice, and had nice spins. Finished way after her music, but saw that final spin out. Think she might have had a time violation for that, though.
