2022 Olympics: Women's Free Skate

On re-viewing of the Eurosport coverage... Simon Reed has no sense or sensibility.

His comment of how Trusova is 'angry for her teammate'.

She was angry for herself!!!! I thought he was being ironic but he kept going on and on. Ridiculous, honestly.:dance3:

I sincerely wish you to go through all Kamila's been through during the last days, like the 6.5 hour-long CAS hearing she had to stand and especially all the hate from mainstream media pointed at her. I'd love to see how you would after all that "appropriately ended up off the podium" and be a "sore loser". Am just returning you what you wrote about Kamila and "them" - no offense intended on my part.
please read my previous post. this has nothing to do with Valieva herself at all, and nobody did the right thing by her.

Also, many thought Anna would be left off of the Olympic team. But she has always been underestimated, winning when no one expected her to.

Agreed. The most impressive skates were at Euros because that was honestly her last shot really to cement herself over Tuktamysheva, but also regain the notion of her being an OGM prospect.

The fact that people were assuming either Anna or Sasha would be left off the team, and here they are 1-2, is quite the turnaround. I do wish Liza had been able to skate, but maybe she'll get to go to Worlds depending on what transpires over the next while.

Trusova especially fought her way onto the team after Anna/Liza went 1-2 at Worlds and Kamila showed up and Trusova had a very shaky start to the season plus an injury. I get the Olympics are emotional, but even being here, getting a PB free and total score, and getting 2nd (when she could have possibly been 3rd if Valieva skated well) she should regard as huge wins. Anna was just BETTER, and Trusova can only blame herself for her errors but had to ruin the moment for Anna/Kaori. The podium was such a wholesome place until Cruella De Vil, indeed.

But why, this is awful, 😔 I can't sleep and it's almost 2am.

Like what part do you want to relive?! Kamila falling apart in the FS? Her falling apart in the KnC? Sasha shattering into a million pieces at the realisation she'll never, ever be good enough?! Or Anna's shock and confusion and uncertainty about whether she can celebrate this huge moment?

This isn't a soap opera, these are REAL girls, with real feelings.
What I would want to repeat? Kaori's joy. But also this ridiculous nature of Trusova in the background. My heart breaks for Valieva. But honestly, with Trusova in the background, I may come across as sick, but it just became other worldly insane. I'm not laughing at her, I'm just left in disbelief. As a matter of fact, even those in the room who don't watch figure skating, were watching it like a train crash.

Also, in disbelief how Eteri kept on with her comments. Reminds me of when as a child, the last thing you want is someone to say 'calm down' or anything for that matter.

Again, for the umpteenth time, I have seen no hate being directed at Valieva. Greater attention, yes. But all the criticism has been aimed at her camp, not her.

The court was trying to prevent irreperable harm, right? But that is what we ended up with. Their decision, and then the IOC’s decision to not have medal ceremony - that put her in a no-win situation. Like she is skating as a ghost… what would be her motivation to skate well?
So you wanted the IOC to continue like nothing happened? That is nothing short of wishful thinking.

If you think this has been the end of Kamila's Olympics glory, just think for a moment the amount of damage this has done to the sport itself.

It's astounding that we're being gaslighted by some like WE caused Kamila's issues and snatched away her future.

The distortion of reality is unbelievable.

Most of us thought she would sail into the Olympics and win gold by a mile. I was a bit worried about Covid and over exertion in the team event. Never in a million years did I even contemplate this sh3tshow would happen.

The adults in her life caused this not bunch of random people on the internet!

Anna ❤️

"I saw Kamila's skate. I was very worried for her. From the first jump I understood how hard is for her to skate. I understand these feelings. I will tell her privately, what I think about it".
This girl needs to stop. She's winning my heart and mind more and more. Honestly so sensible when she speaks. Kostornaia was right when she described Anna as the thoughtful/knowledgeable one.

Anna just 6 point behind Trusova on TES in the free is one of most ridiculous things of the night

Trusova did 5 quad!!! Overall 177 point vs Anna 2 quad overall 175 point

I understand whyTrusova get mad and refuse to join medal ceremony .....she is the least favor from her coach and from the judgings
What you don't understand, however, is how the scoring system works.

Honestly, I really hate that there were all these cameras showing this backstage drama live to the whole world, these girls deserved to have a few minutes of privacy to sort out their feelings after all the doping drama and the relentless pressure they have been under for years.
But the problem was that the drama was happening front stage. It's not like they managed to sneak Trusova or Valieva in the back room where they exercise/warm up.

In fact, I dare say, Trusova just did not care.
