2023-24 Russian Nationals Men's Short Program

Aww Mark...Mark, Mark, Mark.

Still kudos to him for the world's silliest costume... change? Addition?

Sigh he +COMBO'ed though.

Man, I know I'm not supposed like him anymore, but damn you could always depend on Plushy, did he use up the entire consistency quota for Russian men for 10 generations or something?

The dreaded long wait...

Yeah, but this is really bad. I don't remember a nationals with this level of disaster skates. Two clean skates out of 11 skaters is just mind boggling.

They all have super high bvs... maybe many of them are going for content that is too risky (+pressure)

What? That sounds borderline physically impossible
In figure skating, the skates were completed with all possible injuries. That's how athletes are.

At an international competition, a Czech skater was able to finish his performance after a similar fall, he dislocated his foot.

Any Nats before 2022 looked so. Disasters. Kolyada won in 2021, and everyone else didn't skate very well. Then Semenenko won the Cup Final with a pop and a fall. It's just that the last two Nats have raised the bar very high.

Foot I understand - if the skate is tight enough to keep stability and cuts blood flow to numb the foot + adrenline.

But broken leg? What? I'd love to know who that was and when so I can see.

These guys actually did better during cup stages, some were fantastic in both stages (Savosin). What is happening? Are the criteria for national team tougher this year? The pressure seems different.
