2024-25 US Women's Figure Skating

Congratulations to Alysa and US figure skating community. What a story!
Quad jumping junior phenom brightens fs world, struggles growing up, gets her bronze medal and retires leaving the impression the sport is far down on her list, then shockingly comes back with no hopes and expectations AND BECOMES WORLD CHAMPION!

If this doesn't get deserved hype before Olympic season, then I don't know what ever will.

I hope alysa gets on the kelly clarkson show or Tamron hall's show, so she can get some media buzz going. I hope alysa gets some glitz and glamour treatment because she is a world champion. It won't be like the old days, but I hope she at least gets a few photoshoots and social media buzz and a tiktok of her winning moment going viral or something.

At one point the other day, the Youtube video that NBC put up was trending in the top 10, so people have noticed it.

Alysa, Ilia, Evan, and Madison were all on The Today Show yesterday.

Alysa and Ilia were in the same segment.

I mean…when Gracie won the short in 2016 it was trending on FB and Taylor Swift tweeted about it. And they gave it more than a minute and a half to be noticed.

Have we heard anything about Ava Marie Ziegler? Any articles on a comeback? I feel so incredibly bad for how her past 2 seasons have gone with injuries.
Could she come out next season and be a threat to everyone in the mix for Olympic spots?

I'm so excited to watch how it all plays out this upcoming season. I think Alysa, Isabeau, and Amber should be the 3 in Milan but we never know how a season will go. There are a good number of women who want those spots. I have no idea how Ava is doing, but hoping she is able to compete and be healthy. Josephine Lee is senior eligible for 25-26 and I always think she is a dark horse and just needs to put it together fully and could be a threat.

"(Interviewer to Alysa): Are you thinking about winning an Olympic medal?

Alysa
: No, no. My goal remains the same. Rankings and scores are not my goal. My dream is much further in the future than skating, and I still have to wait. For now, I just want to feel the joy of skating."

Wow. As I said in Alysa's FF, I never ever saw anyone have so much fun competing while skating.

Just wow. She is so impressive.

Lindsay Thorngren has been removed from the ISP... I fear that this is it for her 💔
Just had a look on skating scores. The vast majority of her jump passes this season were not fully rotated. And many not just on the quarter, but downgraded. It looks like it started to become an increasing problem for her in the 23/24 season. Was (or is) she injured?

Such a shame. She seemed so promising! I always noticed whenever she skated, she seemed like she had such a sad look. I always wondered if she was super nervous, dealing with an injury, etc. Her "Windmills" program choreographed by Sandra Bezic was beautiful.
