Extraordinary 192 score. 5 jumping passes got a q, underrotation or downgrade out of 12. The highest PCS of all for the free skate, but parts of it felt really empty like she was waving her arms to conserve energy  .

Schild can be quite proud of her medal she did it the hard way. Well done.

Maddie - Sigh 😞
This season she has no confidence on most of her jumps. Her free skates are consistently 50+ on both TES and PCS. Her 175 score is an improvement to her SB. However, she is behind Uliana SB this year. Kaiya, Uliana and Lulu can knock her out from the podium by Nationals, if she performs like this.
She's changing around her jump layout between competitions again. I wish she'd stick with one and get it consistent.

Kaiya changed coaches, so I wouldn't be surprised if she had consistency issues around Nationals if she's reworking her technique.
I'm not so sure kaiya is that much of a threat even with the way Maddie is skating Kaiya has struggled to score over 160 points since the start of last season. Uliana is probably the one to watch because she can land jumps which is lacking with Canadian ladies right now.
Kaiya scored 189 at a domestic competition. She changed coaches after that, so she will have consistency issues if she is working on improving her jump technique. Sara-Maude scored 172 at 4CC, so I think she can land her jumps if she can earn the Worlds CTES. Her free wasn't as good at Nebelhorn, but that was a new situation for her. That's part of getting competition experience.

There have been good performances in the summer competitions where the Canadian women have been landing their jumps other than Uliana. I'm not a fan of brushing off an entire nation of women as being unable to land jumps based on three skaters.

Alysa Liu brought a smile to my face 😃
(I just love her programs and she seems to be skating for fun now)
Her score is solid. It will be enough to lock in a GP spot for Olympic season.
Also, I think she can build on the result.
However, top 3 in USA will be tough for her, just based on the jumps. She seems like a 4-6 USA lady this season. But, I know never to count her out. She won on PCS.

Kimmy - Solid skate till the end. She seems to have lost her energy at the end. I’m 50/50 with whether or not she should have won the gold medal here. I think she will improve.

Lorine - Great fighter
Lindsay - I’ll give her a hug 🤗

Maddie - Sigh 😞

This is Alysa's first international after being out for two years. Her improvement in spin levels and jumps haa been impressive since St. Moritz. I'd be very surprised if she's not on the podium at Nationals.

@4everchan Maddie didn't fall, but no jumping pass went clean either
lol... when i read your comment, i thought this was true and I felt awful for Maddie. There were issues on half the jumps but some were clean :)
On a positive note : Maddie used to repeat the toe and loop. This is a big upgrade she's doing here repeating the lutz and loop. It will take her a while.

I am thinking her goal is to land
3lz-3t
3f
3loop-2t
3s
3lz-2t-2a ( the combo could be on the loop too... but I think she will do it on the lutz)
3lo
2a

Today, she didn't manage to do any combos on the lutzes before of the step outs... so she lots the 3toe and got a REP. She probably wasn't planning to combo on the loop and tried her best to sneak it in there... but singled the axel... no biggie.

I see improvement here.

Well done Alysa! :cheer2: She appears so happy and content on the ice now, I'll definitely root for her.
Her SP is fresh and rhythmic and music isn't bored and is great technically talking really i enjoyed a lot watching her FS even i think have a style very similar to Mirai Nagasu

Schizas's FS i love it because is elegant ,classical and with Danse Macabre wow is a evidence that classics never die . i don't why in last month some FS reminds me to Sasha Cohen or Alyssa Czisny style .

Alysa Liu has done exactly what so many who criticized her in her younger years SAID they wanted her to do.

She has ... first and foremost ... developed a mature, expressive, joyful style. She always had a wonderful relationship with her music, from age 12 when I first saw her, and now she's created herself as a skater that so many say they admire and want., and her choices in music have matured as well. She successfully navigated puberty, and with her coaches' help, and a lot of hard work and persistence, she improved her jumping technique.

Alysa has recovered her desire to skate and it's so apparent, in the joy and engagement she skates with! All while affirming her conviction to also have a normal life, alongside her figure skating. I especially love her expressiveness with her movement, and the way she holds the edge at the end of jumps.

Well done, Alysa!! :points::dance3::dance3::dance3:Congratulations on your gold medal !😍

P.S. Sorry, @jorge2912, I disagree that Alysa's style is similar to Mirai's. Mirai never showed one-tenth of the expression and soul that Alysa has, IMHO. :)
I mean it reminds Mirai technically talking (forgot do that mention) but is true that can't base an opinion everything just if an axel was perfect or not also expression but isn't the best of her by now.

Sara-Maude has the CTES for Worlds already

Yes, yes and yes! Can't agree with this post more. Especially remembering how scrutinized Alysa was when she was younger, by people who know very well that she needed time to grow and improve as a skater. Seeing her choose to go back to skating and doing it her own way is one of my favorite moments from this season already.
