Everyone who has an interest in ID has been begging for a waltz for... what is it, 5 seasons straight?
I don't know necessarily if it's been specifically waltzes, but I think many of us have been begging for a true rhythm based dance, not a decade theme or whatever. I'll take a Yankee polka, whatever, I don't care. And give us some kind of pattern so we can actual do a technical comparison that separates those with skills from the merely good presenters.

I would be legitimately excited for a polka at this point. Or you know, a real paso doble. Doesn’t have to be a waltz but these “vibes only” themes and requirements are just not it, especially since they don’t even enforce it if someone breaks theme

Polka would be nice. But: Top teams would have something like 4-5 polka steps, the rest will be whatever they want to do and total score would be about +90. And music would be anything anyway.

I was really really interested when they said the them was 60s-80s, it sounded really promising but sorry, it's been a dud.

Yeah, feels like I'm being thrown crumbs with these itty bits of Paso pattern

Hypothetically if all these teams were transplanted to the pre/early 2010s, it would be interesting to see how the ranking might change. I think Carreira/Ponomarenko are one of the few younger teams who might benefit from a re-emphasis on skating full dance patterns.

The French team with 5 point drop, very unfair and very suspicious 😒

They skated with their legs and mostly one leg 👏 NOT like someone who glide around with all four legs...

I love Long Tong Sally and rock n roll in general. I liked C/P's program, but they would have made more of an impact with the right clothes. Muted blue is is not Little Richard and suits in the fifties were cut a lot wider than what Anthony was wearing. We KNOW how the dude and people dancing to that music dressed, just do it.

I also want to understand why the French didn't get better scores? Again, awful clothes; they both looked stocky, whwen they really aren't. But in terms of performance and skating skills I think they are better than some of the teams above them.

I'm sorry, I'm sure this was just a little blip, but I had to chuckle - Long Tong Sally? Long Tall Sally, of course. heeheehee. I'm picturing Sally at a huge grill with those giant barbecue tongs.
