I also want to understand why the French didn't get better scores? Again, awful clothes; they both looked stocky, whwen they really aren't. But in terms of performance and skating skills I think they are better than some of the teams above them.
If you mean D/LM, they missed a couple of levels. Being new(ish) on the block might also contribute. Their programme is one of the few RDs this season that I really like though.
He should at least tuck in his shirt, but I'm on board with the sleevelessness šŸ˜†

So it's not like I know much but here's how I see it: she's got a whole lot of charisma, strong lifts, and the rest is ID being ID

I liked this much better than SkAm performance. Maybe because it was cleaner, I could appreciate the concept a little more.

One of the things that has sunk in is that this really does fit the theme. It's not just "music from the various decades." It's SOCIAL DANCES.

Think about it. They, more than anyone else here, incorporated social dancing. The Twist, the little YMCA segment, etc. This wasn't standard ice dance with the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack playing in the background.

I get the criticism of the many music cuts, but at least it's intentional, and it contributes to a unifying theme - people having fun while dancing.

I do not think this is the program that Loicia & Theo started the season using - I do not remember this Michael Jackson program at all. Am I wrong? they skated very well.
No, you are correct, Karine Arribert decided to change the music and choreography entirely... . They were previously dancing to Led Zeppelin. They performed it for the first time in Bratislava.
I do not like this new music at all ...

I liked Green and Parson's JLB choreographed RD - reminded me a bit of their Austin Powers EX a while back. I hope they continue working with Jean-Luc!

I still think that C/B's RD has too many music cuts but they performed the heck out of it when I watched. I also liked C/P's performance. I think these three are still the Top 3 in American Ice Dance. Nationals will be interesting to see who is getting the pewter - it's between Z/K, B/S and the Browns, IMO.

Loved G/P rhythm dance. Fun choreo, sharp, with lots of little touches, technical difficulty, etc. (and I loved their lifts). Thought their skating skills, performance, edge quality and speed deserved a higher score. I would have had them at least in 3rd and very close to C/P. These two are every bit as good as C/P but think they are getting underscored, perhaps due to the injuries they skated through last year and lingering perceptions from that. To me, they looked back to their old form in the RD and are off to a good start this year. Thought the other US teams did really well too. So who's up for a USA podium sweep in the FD?

Madi and Evan must have reduced the music cuts, because except for one or two that still jar (only "YMCA" from "YMCA"), it flowed much better this comp. I agree that the first half flowed much better than the second, they could apply some editing to the second half as well.

Watching again, I could appreciate the incorporation of the dance moves and the difficulty of the lifts without being distracted by the music. I am enjoying more than I thought I would.

Aww boo...I wanted Mark Hanretty commentary
Why? He spouts irrelevancies during the performances, he tells me nothing I don't already know and his CONSTANT use of the word ' showcase' makes me want to scream! Also the way he says 'social mediarrr'.

Chris Howarth I can ALWAYS listen to, and he keeps his trap mostly shut during the performances, he keeps comments to a minimum and keeps them relevant.
