Maria. Beautiful dress. So sad, not the skate she wanted. But she never gave up.

I want Masha Mazur to get it together at a major competition at least once in her career. She has successful skates semi-regularly at minor competitions, but pressure is a wicked thing

It is her senior debut. If she skates slightly more stable next season she will almost definitely make nationals again. We will see plenty of her. I've liked her for a while. She can be a great artist.

Why do they push her to jump this quad.

She had good height and distance but she just didn't have the rotational speed.

I love her music too!

Unfortunately, she had a few big msitakes. A fall at the start; another fall in the second half, followed by nearly tripping on landing the next element.

She looked thoroughly fed up after she finished.

There was on shot in teh replays when I thought she looked like what one of my kids looked like when she was Maria's age. But, I think it was jsut the angle. BEcause she doesn't look like her now in the results area.

She goes into 4th position in both the FS and overall.

She is gutted!

She is partially successful with quads at lower competitions, but on big ones she usually messes.

And, what's worse, Mazur represents Moscow that might lead to her not even making it to the stages.

I mean, I don't doubt that it is at least semi-stable in training, considering she has even succeeded with landing two quads in a program before, and, really, what did she actually have to lose here? 18th or 14th doesn't make that big of a difference.

I don't like that they push Rubtsova to do different things considering she had two back surgeries just recently. But I don't see any problems with Mazur. And in Mazur's case it's her nerves anyway.

This first group as a whole have been great. I think Russian nationals is the only nationals event where you truly see the best skaters a country has. .

Yes, I hope she does. I don't even understand why she is still in Moscow. The fact she was in the series this year is the miracle and result of multiple WDs.
